Lighting New driver for a UFO

Why not just go ahead and put a new driver in the one you have, while your shopping around for another one? Maybe it will actually work well. If it were mine. Id get a constant voltage driver and experiment with adjusting the current. The worst you'd do is blow a diode or 2 although if your using a meter that shouldn't happen. I'd love to see you make that light work.

Maybe in the future, I'm not scrapping the China light or anything. I just need to get a light I can rely on and properly grow with first.

The cab can actually fit two of those little UFOs and it would be a shame not to take advantage of the space. :hump:

Just out of curiosity have you counted how many led's are in there cos that size is like the size of my 25x3w ufo which only uses around the 30odd mark, blackstar have made usable products in their time I looked at that light too but shipping makes it unworthy in my eyes.

You could get another little ufo and maybe angle them in together?

I've counted the number of diodes on the light like three times so by now I'm pretty certain there are 50 :P

If the temperatures won't get too high with two UFOs I will use them both. I can't currently get any air exchange in and out of the closet where the cabinet is. Thankfully the way things are now the cab doesn't seem to get hotter than 85F above canopy and 80 at root height.

60W from the Blackstar sounds great for the space but 90W from both of them combined sounds even better!

As for the price of the Blackstar, I'm going to be paying around 50 bucks for shipping but truth be told I'm tired of sub-par lighting and Blackstar is prolly as good as it gets for my price point and requirements so I'm fine with it.
