Hello again AFN community! I'm back! Started my first grow on 2/25 and have started a journal which I would like to share here in case I have any problems..........and guess what........I have problems. So sit back, get high, relax and take a read if you like

2/25/14 - Put soil in the pot. Put 1 gal pH 6.4 to help pack down the soil.
2/27/14 - Soaked seeds in a bowl with 1 part peroxide to 5 parts water and stuck it in a warm dark place.
2/28/14 - Seeds soaked for 24 hours. They didn't sprout but they did sink to the bottom of the cup. So I planted them 1/4" into the soil. At 10:30 am, I made a humidity dome out of a plastic bottle and placed over the potted seeds to help with my low humidity which is between 20-28% with temps ranging from 81-84F. I decided I needed to buy another humidifier and fan.
3/2/14 - Seeds sprouted sometime between 2-5pm. Phew! First phase over! Now just have to survive the second round. Turned all the lights on the BadBoy. Temps are steady at 84. RH is between 30-38%. Put frozen bottles of water in the grow area to try to get temps down to at least 0. Think 1 has taken a turn to the left due to me leaving the center strip light off and Think 2 is kind of facing right but more straight. Since turning the center strip back on, hopefully, that will straighten them up.
3/3/14 - Temps are averaging 79-82F more towards 79F RH has been between 25-42% averaging 31%. Got the other fan and a cool mist humidifier which has been helping with the temps but humidity, so-so. Been keeping the soil moist with a spray bottle. When dried out, I remoist. The PH of the water has been 6.4-6.6. Started taking pictures today and as you can see since turning back on the center strip of the BadBoy, Think 1 has straightened right up. The light is 10" away from the top of the plants and cannot get it any closer. Will that be alright?
3/4/14 - Temps are averaging 77-80F mostly 78F RH is low at 27%. Gave a good watering around the edges of the pots today to convince Think 1 and Think 2 to start stretching those roots for some water. So I went to check on the plants and behold! WTH! Gnats! Are you F#$@ing kidding me! After doing a little research, guess I'm off to Home Depot for mosquito dunks.......2 hours later.....back with the dunks.....it's on now! Crushed 1/2 of a dunk and scattered on top of the 2 pots and gave a good watering to activate the duct. Should of got some fly traps for the gnats....oh well.....guess I be going back.
3/5/2014 - Temps are steady at 79F RH is low 34%. I bought the Humidifier a couple of days ago but my first mistake was setting it up in the bedroom near the grow room door first. I know it needs to be in the grow room but the wife is already talking about how much better it is for her sinuses and stuff and I keep saying how low the RH is but does she say.....You can stick the humidifier in there.....HELL NO and she wont as long as she sleeps better. So I guess I'll have to go buy another one to stick in the grow room. Gave another pH 6.5 watering to Think 1 and Think 2 to help with the Dunks. I hope I didn't over water I did only get about 1% run off. it will be awhile before I water again. Besides those damn Gnats it's been a good day......like I know.
3/6/2014 - Temps are steady at 79FRH has been between 28 to 40% average 34%. Think 1 has brown spots on the leaves.......wat the hell probably due to me over watering to activate them Dunks to kill any Gnat larvae or nute burn maybe since I am using Ocean Forest and Happy Frog. Those are my guesses you guys are the experts you can take a look at the pics and let me know. Think 2 is looking good but not growing like Think 1......HMMM answers anybody? Didn't make it to Home Depot to get the fly traps yet (Clan Wars started). I will get my lazy ass there tomorrow.
3/7/2014 - Temp have been 78 to 80F average 79F RH has been between 25 to 42% average 31%. No water today. Think 1 is growing good to me compared to think 2 I just don't know what is wrong, she is nice and green but just don't seem like she's growing. Still didn't make it to Home Depot to get the fly traps (damn games) will go Saturday since I have to run by the Hydro store to pick up some Ona Gel.
3/8/2014 - Temps have been 79F RH is between 30 to 35% and today the hygrometer say it's high. I'm gonna due the salt test tonight to see how accurate it is. Soil was dry about an 1" down so I gave 1/2 a gallon pH 6.5 water between Think 1 and Think 2. Decided to put the Humidifier in the grow room.....and of course the wife says......What are you doing that for. I explained that the RH needs to be higher in Veg, she looks at me with those eyes and says ok...and in my head I'm like whatever it's going in anyways Got the fly traps up finally and testing the hygrometer as I write this. Well Hell your not gonna believe this sh$t I was taking daily pics and my cat Taz decided to scratch my damn foot in which I dropped my phone on Think 1
I just wanted to cry) so I lifted her back up , no breaks or anything I can see. To me she has been growing decent so if I see a difference in her pattern over the next couple of days I'll start over I guess. What you guys think? I'm off to kill a cat....just joking. Think 2 just don't seem to be growing. I cant figure that out. Done testing the hygrometer for 2 hours with the salt test and the highest it got was 64% so I'm guessing it's off by at least 7 to 10% give or take a few for that kind of test. So maybe my humidity has been fine.
I posted some pics of Think 1 on day 7 before the accident and this morning day 8 it looks like she grew a little bit in those short hours last night after the accident. What you guys think? I got five more seeds should I just start over? If I do its gotta be now cause I go on vacation in the beginning of July. I still haven't tested my soil pH yet don't have the cash for a meter yet. Is it real important? If so whats the easiest way.
I just wanna say Thanks for this great community in which I am proud to be a member of and hopefully one day when I get good at growing I can return the favor to a newb like me
I will keep weekly updates every Sunday unless I run into problems during the week that way if I do something wrong I got you great guys to help me out. If there is anything else you need to know just let me know I'm on here a lot taking in all I can to get me in the right direction.
