New Grower Noisy Led Light

I just got my 180w blackstar setup, and I noticed today that I can hear it through the wall.

So, Is there a way to slow the fans down to reduce the noise?

If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

That's unusual mate,my blackstar is pretty quite,and I'm not sure tampering with the LEDs fans is a good idea.

no... I def wouldnt slow them... the only thing i've heard of is increasing heat sink area and fan flow to increase brightness output... but slowing will kill your unit IMO.

Have you looked at how its hung and what might be conucting the sound through the wall? It always takes me a few days of tweaking to get all my "humming" noises worked out. Of course my problem is amplified on a mover...

I find even one loose screw in your mounting... can allow vibrations to be amplified and passed along any hard suface.. (wall, framing studs, you name it) maybe go through and see if you can target the exact noise source.

other options:

insulation for noise baffle... or blankets / towels... sometimes even a rubber pad where your hanging connectors are will help.

If you got blackstar from Gotham Hydro
Give them a call and speak with Victor. They have the BEST CUSTOMER service, my 240watt is about the same or slightly les than a pc desktop... Also is the fan as loud when You run it on a flat surface? Gotham Hydro also sell lighthouse grow rent which imo is fantastic tent at an unbelievable price, seen equivalent tent for double the price.
So am really hoping you got it from Gotham, if not call lighthouse Hydro... They'll take care of you.

I'd return it. It shouldn't be making any noise. I've returned faulty equipment to Gotham before and they always send me a new replacement. Good people. :smokebuds:
