Does anyone know what the freebie auto cush is? Indica or sativa? Maybe a link to it's info?

Whats the best soil to make or buy? I don't have a hydro store near by so is there something available that's bagged or I can throw together?

Green crack x low Ryder 2. Supposed to be sativa but I've heard there r some indica phenos. Should be uplifting high.

Do some research on soils, even if you have to make a drive, good soil will be worth the trip!
There are several super soil recipies, bothe here and on youtube, but I'm a lazy old fart, so I buy mine... try to use the best soil, nuts etc you can... lots of us have gone thru the "I'm just starting and gotta keep it cheap" phase... there's a reason people spend the money on quality stuff...

Weed will grow anywhere...
Quality weed will not grow everywhere...

Jump in, get started and ask a lot of questions... the colective knowledge on AFN, plus the genuine care you'll get will help get you thru the rough spots!

Thanks for the replies. I can get Fox Farm soils locally but that's about it I think. Ive been reading some bad things about how has went downhill over last few years though. Doesn't seem like many people use it anymore.

I'm not trying to keep things cheap either, I've got money to spend if I need. It's more about availability in my area and how easy it is to make the soil. I've got the flora series from general hydroponics as my nutes, so any soil that would work with that would be fine too.

What about delivery? Also, I've used the fox farms line, they seem to have had quality control issues for some, I've used happy frog for years, and not had a problem myself. The oceans forest is hotter, I avoid it unless dealing with a photo plant.

If you buy local, look to see how they store their soils, soils left on the pallet, outside, exposed to the elements is a sure way to start off with issues.

I don't really have any time for delivery. My seeds are already germing. Promix and sunshine are about a 4 hour drive to the nearest retailer. Maybe I'll use happy frog and just add a few things to it?

I had a couple girls in HF this summer, it all turned out fine. If I wasn't about to start a test of Nectar for the gods line, I'd be running it indoors. But given I'm trying their nutes, I figure I ought to give it an honest try and use their soil.
You know what to watch for, you'll be fine!

Alright, after a few hours of searching I was able to find roots organic original soil here in town. This has to be better than the fox farm soils I've used in the past.. right?

Is there anything I should add to the roots soil?

You most likely will need some pH adjusters, I.E earth crystals pH up and pH down. The roots organic is definitely a good quality dirt that I would recommend. As far as what else you will need, I would invest in some dolomite lime if I were you. Just to give that soil a little more beefed up. : )

Dolomite lime acts as a buffer in your pH, thus allowing the plant to absorb nutrients from basically the whole pH range. Other that that man drop those babehs in the dirt and lets all pull up a chair to watch this grow! I wanna see em get friggin HUGE and from the reports one of only 65 dolars rent. The HBBSS, of all the @mephisto strains, has the potential to get really big, especially with the maxO2 DWC technique, you are going to knock it all the way out of the park!
