Hey everyone:) Im Lauren, and this is my firs grow.
Made A LOT of NooB mistakes in the beginning, so im calling this grow the practice round.

Workin with bag seeds found in some Bubba Kush and Jack the Ripper, so not entirely sure what Ive got here as far as strain.
Currently have 2 plants potted together (noob mistake) and one clone.

The one Im curious about has been super mature (in comparison) since jump street. She showed her pistil-y preflower goodness about 3weeks into veg (18/6 with CFL) when the other plant in the pot was showing no distinguishable signs of sex.

She is SUUUUUUUPER small (just barely 13 inches, the other is just over 2 feet), aaaaannnnddd if Im not mistaken, is damn near ready to harvest, and shes only been in 12/12 for 4 weeks.

The clone came from her, i wanna say 3weeks before switching to 12/12.
Kept George Cloney (dun dun dun chhhhhh) on 24/0 until google magic informed me that you cant really clone an AF. Then back into 18/6 with the others (this was clearly AFTER my noob stoner self, SOMEHOW managed to root it in 9 days).

SOOO 4 weeks down the line, Cloney is sexy as ever. Doesn't have NEARLY the smell that her momma does, but she isn't quite as mature either.

Now is it possible this is all due to genetics?

Sure.
Is it possible she's only so small because its been kicking another plant in the roots her whole life for nutes/water?
Sure.
Is it possible to only have...partial AF genetics? lol
uhhhhhhhhh.....haha. I'll leave that up to you guys.
Thank you in advance for any replies!!

:styles rasta: Welcome to AFN Lauren, Impressive for a 1st grow using only CFL's.

I bet your next grow will be even better. There is a ton of information throughout
the site and many helpful members. If you have access to a microscope or jewelers
loop you can check the trich's to see if they are cloudy/amber to give you an idea
what stage of ripeness of the girl in question. Also why don't you stop by the intro
area and give a shout out to let everyone get to know you.

Thank you:) I myself, am shocked and enamored with them.

I do have a set of jewelers loops 10x-30x), and a pocket scope (60x-120x). But with the scope, I cant seem to steady enough (I have MS) to get a good look with out crushing the buds and with the loops, i cant tell if they are clear or cloudy.
I did manage to nab this picture with my iphone though...dont know about anyone else, but I definitely see trichs that are screaming 'IM ALMOST READY!!!'

Getting very frosty, I have the same problem holding the scope steady
myself. She does look like she is getting close.

:tiphat: :smoke: :tiphat: :styles rasta: Hey there Lauren! Welcome to Auto- (info)Heaven..."wg's Cool" Let's see if I can answer some of your questions here,.... Multi-pots are not a bad thing at all, it really depends on your what your goal is; there are excellent growers and even some serious breeders who do this for reasons ranging from sheer fun to the very important business of selection for pheno's/traits; basically, multi-pot isn't the optimal way to grow,...yes, the plants do compete for nute's, and root crowding can be an issue, but when you see what can be done potentially, it has it's niche purposes! Check out Moderator Sniper's recent multipot grow..this cat is a master at this! https://www.autoflower.org/f5/sniper-visits-melmac-24762.html
......I've got one going right now, with non-fem'ed seeds, another reason multipots can be a good way to roll... managing the nute's and some training/LST is the trickier part of it, so i wouldn't say it's the best way fro a noob to start....
..I noticed your light time schedule; with auto's, there's no need to switch to a shorter light schedule, in fact, this will reduce yield and possibly quality as well... most folks here do 18/6 or 20/4, the whole way.... May I ask, are you sure the Bubba and JtR are auto's?
.. cloning is totally possible, just not practical, unless you want micro-plants!... see, the plants (cells) know their age, and when you take a cutting of a 3week old plant for example, and clone it successfully, the clock genetically, physiologically, hasn't been reset back to an earlier time; that new clone still thinks it's a 3 week+ old plant, and will behave like it.... Auto's flower within a certain time frame of age, period, regardless of light cycle, so a clone of one will still try to bloom at about that time, even if it's a barely established clone... with photo's, you can manipulate the light cycle to extend vegg'ing, but not with auto's! This the reason George isn't really living up to her potential, but you did it and got a blooming plant, so kudos to you! And yes, partial autoflowering genes are normal, in fact....it's not an all-or-nothing characteristic.... some companies, like Sweet Seeds have strains that are in between, and are an excellent choice in the right situations.... I grew a Green Poison F1 Fast outside this year; it was a seed beginning of August, and I harvested at the end of Oct.!! Flowering was done in only 4+weeks! All I did was to give it extra light at night during veg', then kept her outside the last 6 weeks.... Boom! 3' of plant gave a solid oz of outstanding smoke!
...light intensity and duration for full-time indoor auto growers is most important,... My experience is with outdoors really, with just some supplemental lighting at night, so I can't help much with improving your set-up for better results.... but there's a mountain of info here for sift through, on CFL's. etc.,... dig around in the lighting sections, check out some grows and ask questions,..folks will be glad to help! You've got some nice plants for a noob, well done! :d5: -trust me, I know all about runts!...many of my first plants were :face:... :WTF:

Hey and Welcome!!
This is the place for sharing your grow and gaining insight! (as you can clearly see from the responses!).
Peace and happy growing, here's some :karma Cloud: for you!

Waira - thank you so much for your reply! I tried to add to your rep, but it wouldnt let me cause im a noob with no rep myself, lol.
However, no. im not sure they are auto's. At all actually. Thats what I was hoping to find out. I was looking around google trying to find out about growing an AF JtR but i couldnt find anything...I suppose its possible it was never JtR from the start? Or its not an auto...but if it isnt, why is it A so small and B always been so much more mature than the other?
Like...these 2 pictures were taken on the same day -

I mean...I know Im a noob and all buuuut...I feel like the smaller one HAS to have SOME kind auto genetics...which i now know isnt that uncommon.

and thanks again:)

Hi Wheredaweed ^_^

Don't panic about the size of them for now - just try to keep them healthy and they will pay out for you ^_^
Here's some rep so you can rep Waira ^_^

I know some plants will auto mariculture preflower under stress or HPS lighting. Also certain nutes will cause it as well all depends on the strain. Which I might ask what strain is it. I may be able to get some data for you.

.......mariculture?
lol and im not sure on the strain at all im workin from bag seed.. From what can be remembered, the seeds came from either Jack the Ripper and bubba kush..but i have no idea which is which. im thinkin they cant be the same strain cause they smell completely different.
