Hey all. Just wrapped up my first foray into mycology. I followed PhillyGoldenTeacher's "Broke boi tech", super simple. I ran Golden Teachers from syringe, did 3 flushes, and ended up with just over 5oz. dried total. It was fun and the fruits are enjoyable. I'm going to do another here before long and am looking for opinions on what strain/variety/species (idk the proper terminology) that you have had great experiences with. I like the GT's, they are fun. I haven't really noticed any visuals or anything, just feel super duper high and all around amazing. Let me know what you've liked (and didn't) so I can get a list going of potentials for the future. Or any words of wisdom or whatever you would want an amateur myco enthusiast to know. Much obliged!

A cube is a cube is a cube, unless it is penis envy. The methods you use to grow mushrooms and individual sample genetics have far more to do with potency and other effects than varieties do. The only cubensi that is actually tested as being more potent is penis envy.

For most varieties the difference is asthetic and really not much else.

So basically, go ham with it. I have had just as much differentiation in expression inside varieties as I have in different types. Agar selection and keeping good genetics on the chill for later use is key, much like cloning a good photo.

Just dropping back in to say I've seen a lot of new crosses lately that are VERY potent. PE has been crossed with different strains to produce extremely potent varieties, Tidalwave tested at more than 2x azzies.
