Hi all! This time I'm going to review my 2nd harvest, a Paradise Seeds' Pandora. This is a indica dominant strain, which is supposed to be ready in 65 days from seed to harvest. Well, I found it took a bit longer... I finally harvested her at roughly 75 days. The main buds were covered with mainly white trichomes, with some brown and some transparent. I harvested "early" because I prefer not a heavy stone but a head high. The plant grew into a 6.5 liter pot and LST was used to keep it manageable. The entire grow took place into a plastic bucket. You can read about this harvest in the thread I made here.
Now, on to the smoke review!
SeedBank : Paradise Seeds
Strain: Pandora
Copy'n'paste from the seed package:
Type: Autoflowering Indica/ Sativa 90/10.
Yield: 400 /450grams per m2 indoors. Outdoors 60 to 100 grams per plant.
Lifecycle: from seed to harvest, 60 to 65 days indoors and max. 75 days outdoors.
Outdoors in colder regions Northern latitude: Start in May/ June and finish in July/ August. In warmer areas multiple harvests are possible. In tropical areas the whole year round.
Effect : Long lasting intense stoned effect , relaxing and medical.
Aroma /Taste: sweet & spicy.
THC: 15-18%
Did it autoflower?: Yes, around the 3rd week
Soil/hydro: Compo Sana Universal soil mix + worm castings + perlite
Nutes: Compo Guano (npk 4-5-6) and Plagron Terra Bloom (npk 2-2-4)
Light (kind and schedule): most of the cycle I used CFL in varying configurations, always around 90-100watts. At the end I started using a non-brand chinese 90W UFO led light. The schedule was kept mostly constant at 22/2 day/night hours.
From seed to harvest date: on Jan 18th I put the seed to germinate. Soon afterwards, it sprouted the small white tail and was put into soil. The seedling sprouted above soil on Jan 25th. The plant was harvested on Apr 6th. The total cycle from seed to harvest was 80 days long (72 days from seedling sprout to harvest!).
Dry Yeid: (26)g although probably more like 28 or 29grams, due to my early samplings and my lack of patience
High/Effect Duration (how long did effects last): 60-90 minutes.
In-depth
RATE SCALE: * bad to ***** good
Bag Appeal: ***
Weed looks good, although there are no strong colors or specially good looking bits on it. The plant did not produce much resin so the weed is not very sticky. I like it sticky!
THE GROWth: ***
The Pandora had a nice growth, thanks to some heavy LST. Although I found some trouble in the middle stages, leading to a probably less than ideal harvest (details can be found in my first thread). The resin amounts were medium in a couple of buds and low in the rest.
THE SMELL: **
The final harvested weed has a quite weak smell. The plant had a nice minty and spicy smell which almost dissapeared when I ran into the aforementioned trouble (there were carencies and pH disorders). The dried weed smells good, also minty and spicy, with subtle hints of citric, but not strong at all. The smell is best when the herb is grinded.
THE SMOKE: ***
The taste is good, way better than the smell. When smoked, this smells like weed, so be cautious if you enjoy it outdoors
THE HiGH ***:
The effects are more cerebral than physical, due to the harvest time. It has a pleasant relaxing effect, without any kind of anxiety, which I really like. It does not stop you completely, so you can do things and enjoy meanwhile. It will make you laugh and enjoy a good movie. The bad thing is that the effect is somewhat short-lasting. Next time I should probably wait until the plant is fully ripe instead of trying to get a sativa-like high from an indica dominant strain
And finally here you can see some shots of the harvest. Enjoy!
