Does adding rinsed Hydroton to soil change the pH of the soil mix?

Whether I'm using Roots Organics soil or Fox Farms or others I mix in about 30% EWC and add some Hydroton instead of vermiculite.

Also, I haven't tested my Reverse Osmosis water or soil. I have been using dry nutes scratched into the surface but this last grow has me rethinking things like using liquid nute mix instead.

What's an accurate way to test water, nute mix, and do I need to test the soil? If so how?

There are some cheap expanded clay balls out there that are not PH balanced and they wreak havoc on hydro. I don't know how much it would swing soil? Good Hydroton are PH neutral and would have no effect.

Yes the measurement of salt based fertilizer is achieved with an Electrical Conductivity meter or EC meter. This will give you the ability to feed a known strength fertilizer. It does not tell you the balance of what the solution is composed of!
