Lighting pin heatsinks in UK

Thanks for that link. I don't think there is anything else for it but get my money out and pay for that shipping! I'll send them an email later. I'm surprised nobody has set up a shop here in Europe with all the demand about. And no I'm not offering!
 
issue with the UK/europe is people can import them for cheap but as its a small niche market they can charge a fortune for parts...thats why i would always go on alibaba and order from china direct...saves you at least half the money!
 
My head is spinning trying to work out costs and part numbers and compatability for holders, series/parallel, tax, shipping etc. Think I'm gonna have to stop smoking while I sort it all out! Thanks for the heads up though on Alibaba.

One thing I have noticed is that it is soooo much easier searching on laptop rather than phone and writing it all down as hunt down the parts.

That's why I'm going for pin/star heat sinks. I don't want to measure, drill, and tap a length of heat sink even though much cheaper and readily available over here. 1. It's too much hassle getting it spot on perfect and 2. Don't want anything working itself loose and starting a fire!
 
Kingbrite on alibaba quoted me 10.5 usd thats £8.28 for a 133 x 70 mm predrilled for citizen clu048s
Postage quote was 65 usd £52 but i had 2 drivers 8 heatsinks cobs and holders so they eatimated the package weighed 10kg
 
Wow, that seems very good value compared to other quotes I've been getting. I've just been speaking to vivi at Kingbright and said I'll send an email tomorrow with a parts list. It's good to know a ball park figure to know what to expect. Hopefully this post will be helping others here in backwater Europe!
 
Yea just order enough to make it worth it...i was looking at a HLG-320-C1050B driver and its 87.5 USD which is what like 60 pounds maybe a tad more...its almost half the price of buying it here...so wack a few COB's and heat sinks on top and youve got a steal...im waiting to sell my car then im gonna put an order in for 16 No. CLU048 1212's...would be good if it wasnt such an odd thing or i would have said lets all chip in and split postage and what not like i do for car parts from japan or other manufacturers doing group buys...if I had the spare cash to risk i would order all of your bits and it would work out peanuts for postage etc
 
I've just seen pre drilled 133 X 70 pin heat sink on ebay UK.
