Hi friends! I was hoping you could give me some input regarding my next light for my 2x2x4 tent. I'm happy with Autocob, but want to fiddle a bit with quantum board style lights.

I'm very close to purchasing a Series 2+ Heatsink Free 120 Watt light fro BudgetLED. Any input on it? what cons do you see in it? I'm a little concerned about the heatsink free feauture.

I've considereded other brands suchs as HLG, niemi and spider farmer. Also considered Solstrips. But it seems BudgetLED has the most benefits now (cost, quality, spectrum...).

Any in put would be greatly appreciated.

I run rails of HLG 132qbs four boards per rail. I run them up to 60 watts per board and have absolutely no heat issues. They are just simple boards without any heat sinks. You can see them in almost any of my grow threads. I have oscillating fans and have run the boards at 75w each and they have not had any issues other than that is to much light for most plants( I run two per plant so 150w). You can get four boards for $125 and two would be more than enough for your tent.

Did you pull the trigger for a light yet?

99.9% sold on the Series 2+... i think i've come to understand why it's able to work at 120 watts without a heatsink. But I've done the check out process for itabout 10 times already and stopped before confirming the purchase... hahahhaha just trying to remind my self that i should wait for black friday sales... or even reconsider and HLG QB135 kit or DIY... tough choices hehehe

Do you have a separate driver for each board? Which driver do you use?

I run four boards per driver, but you can run however you like. When you buy from HLG they will tell you what driver to buy depending on how many boards you want to drive. There are quite a few threads here that explain how to build and size combinations. Just saying certain boards will not need a heat sink. The density of chips on certain boards leaves enough room for the board itself to act as the heat sink

Pulled it on the BudgetLED!!! Hopefully by mid november I can get it running in my 2x2x4!!!

In case anyone is considering this light, here are some pics of mine in my 2x2x4 tent. I gotta say I'm very happy with it. Customer service is topnotch.
