Hi, I am new.
I must say I am very suprised to find an AF-forum.
This is very nice.

I was wondering what pot size people use and if you have noticed any difference in yield when it comes to pot size.

I try to google alot, i research and read alot.
what i have found until now is that apperantly, ruderalis dont have big root system compared to indica and sativa, so a AF should not usually need more than 3 gallon/11-12 liter pot size, since it lives anyway 2 months only, more or less.

in other words, one could conclude that using a 5 gallon/18-20 liter on an AF would be a waste.

but, I also read that some people have used 5gallon/18-20 liter on AF and have gotten bigger yield.

but must I read claim 3 gallon is just fine and you can get much yield with that too.

So, since this is an AF forum only and this is an indoor-growing section, I am very curious if any of you could share your indoor-growing experience with AF when it comes to pot size and the influence it has on the yield.

Sorry for bad english, hope you surived, thank you for reading.

confucius says: "pot size in = pot size out"...I say the bigger the pot, the bigger the pot!

I think the majority of the people do use 3 gallons. You can use bigger than that but it will take the plant longer to finish, but your reward will be better. My couple plants that I have in 3gal pots are pretty big....36in tall.

bigger pot == more pot as bud head said and larger pots take slightly longer to mature.

however, I think what you are asking is; is there is a sweet spot for pot size that balances time to harvest, size and yield - and that is probably where 3 gal comes from.

I have grown in a 1 gal pot and produced 1 oz; the below was in a 15l air pot and produced 4.5 oz

That is a 10l airpot! 15lL have a green mesh, and 20L have a blue mesh

Auto's have come a long way! I am getting more yield from autos than with photos nowaday. My thumb certainly is greener than before, and strain choice certainly plays a part on this, but I'm upgrading to 15l and 20l airports because I can tell my 10L are them limiting factor right now

interesting Groffuwiwi - I actually bought them thinking they were 10l airpots - but I used 30l of soil filling two :)

no really I use 5 gal buckets /dwc growing

Sorry if this is off topic, just pondering my next grow. Any suggestions on the best bucket size to fill an 80x80x160cm tent with one plant? found a bucket system that 18L or 3.9 Gallons, would that be sufficient? I have a Grownorthern MS0006 light. :peace:

I find similar... I pack it in there... l;ol... and then as you water it settles... their "liters" of soil are sometimes deceiving... with fluffy ass air space.... but we're not airheads... we do math... lol

@ Pal.... 3.9 gallons is a nice working size... and an ms00006 should do you quite well!
:toke:

I have used a 3L pot in hydro harvest was 96g with 100w hps
Current grow is with a 5L pot
Peace
