Hey guys

I am currently doing a white Berry Auto and things seem to go a bit wrong. Here is some info:

Problem: plant is pale and tips of growth is yellow

Medium/grow method: Compost and aged soil with perlite

Feed: and supplements used:Gave some KELPAK just for in case. Soil has rock dust in it as an additive with some bonemeal

water source: Tap water that was bubbled 24 hours

Strain/age:White Berry 16 days

light used: Mh

Climate: Indoor

Attached is the pic of the sick one. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just my 2c.

After reading through Waira's thread:

"Quick and Dirty deficiency picture depot " , I think the problem is either a Phosphorous or Potassium defficiency. She also started to push pistils at 17 days.

I will switch to a light flowering feed if need be

:toke: Pete mate-- ... something about that soil is not to her liking,.. it's not a defc. that I can see, and the tip burn hints at overly rich soil for her tender age,... off pH is a possibility as well,... best way to check that is with a qualioty pH probe, as meters are for liquids only,... Accurate 8 makes a good one,... in UK, Amazon has it, maybe under a different name? looks like this-

..... until that's figured out, it's had to say what the next step is,.. do you have some of the same exactly amended soil around? A crude slurry test may offer a clue: 1 cup soil, 1 cup low ppm water (RO/Di), let sit for about an hour, then use the pH meter to test it,.. be sure to calibrate first, and clean the electrodes well with pure water, and store in the proper solution.. these are bitchy sensitive instruments, and any abuse will mess with accuracy!

My pH was a bit
Start with ph.. How's yours?

PH runoff was a bit on the high side. I adjusted it and flushed. Only time will tell......

While mixing the soil a little voice told me it might be to early for the soil to be used. But it works fine for my photos so what could go wrong...... We have a similar probe here by us. Wilbtry and find one tomorrow or Saturday. Unfortunately I don't have extra soil lying around. I make it up as I go. The soil that was used consists of recycled soil which stood for 3 months and the only extra added stuff was EWC and a handful of worms. Perhaps I didn't flush the soil enough before planting. The dark run off concerns me a bit. I'll get my fish tank heater and heat some water to 24C and start to flush her soil.

I'm no soil mechanic myself mate, but from what my mech' buddies say, recycling is fine, but if you used synthetic nutes, fed well or heavy and didn't flush or even cleanse (no nutes, just water for several days or more), there could be a lot of residual salts et.c in there still,.. recall, some of them bind strongly to soil particles, and water alone may not dislodge them,.. flushing/clearing agents can help with this,... do you have a TDS or EC meter? Not expensive, and they can offer critical info as well when assessing issue like this,... a run-off test of TDS/EC could offer some clarification here,....

That's what I thought too. I will get a PH meter again soon. I borrowed the previous one cause mine broke.

After this run I think I'm going back to coco and Perlite and Spaghnum Moss and Perlite. It worked much better and I got control of what the plant gets.

I also think I need to visit the Organic gardening section much more to get my knowledge up before attempting a soil grow again.
