Live Stoner Chat question about grow height /space

so ive started my first ever single plant grow. im growinf an afghan kush ryder auto in a 2x2x4 grow tent. ive beenthinking ahead and after factoring in the height of my 3 gallon fabric pot, and the height my led needs to be above the plant, im worried that im not going to have enough grow height for my plant. im going to have probably around just under 2 feet of total grow height available. im not sure how tall this plant will get. so i started thinking. is a tent actually necessary?. i currently have my tent setup in a spare room thats not being used. could a person literally just put the pot on the floor in the room and hang the grow light above it and just try and keep the canopy level with lst. or is all that rflective mylar really necessary? ive tried searching this online but havent really found much info. and since im only growing autoflower strain i dont need to worry about light cycles or light leaks. so is it possible for me to remove plant from tent, put it on floor, hang light above it and train canopy flatish and still get a healthy yield? if anyone can chime in that would be awesome. im using a viparspectra 300 watt (136 watt actual) grow led. Im thinking if this is okay to do, then i can just setup a carbon filter and fan on floor of room and vent out window to keep smell in room down ad le the plant grow all it wants. and for that matter would i even need to lst it? or could i just kind of bowl train it to keep light getting to lower levels.

I've been thinking about doing a scrog. But I'm not sure how to build a scrog net in my tent, I'm very limited for materials lol. I've also thought of topping since apparently this strain handles it just fine. But since I've never grown before I'm not sure how much topping cuts back on the height. Next grow I'll hare to use smaller pots to limit growth I think. I don't want a big tent for growing one plant at a time, but seems almost impossible to find a 2x2 tent that's as tall as the larger tents. If I can keep my led at 12 inches from plants then I will have roughly exactly 2 feet for vertical growth. But I've been reading that led should be kept 18 inches from tops. Which kind of screws that up.
Time will tell as to how tall it's going to grow, it's just kind of difficult since I've never grown before so don't know what to expect. Trial and error I suppose.
But if topping will keep it much shorter then I have no problems doing that. Kind of planned on it.

Nothing wrong with that desire. If you don't have odor to mask. I like a tent because I control the proverbial whole ball of wax.

I have my fan/filter outside my tent and have done so for several years. If moving them will give you more had room you just need to crack a window for fresh air supply if you don't want to run it directly through window.

well its good to know thats definitly an option for me then if needed, ill have to watch its growth, im probably going to top this plant and watch its height, grow it in tent as long as possible but will move outside tent if it starts getting too tall. i was really just most curious as to weather or not i needed to have reflective material right around the plant . always see everyone running reflective stuff, yet ive been to horticultural places and usually they just have lights sitting over plants on tables and such iwth nothing reflective around them. i figured since its the top of canopy that needs the light then it shouldt make much of a difference. i mean could a nice plant be grown lets say theoretically in the middle of a gymnasium with just a grow lamp hanging over it? thats kind of the theory im basing this on if it makes sense.
