Hey everyone!

I’m currently getting towards the end of my first grow and I have some questions about when to harvest. I’m currently on day 60 of a 60 Day Wonder by DNA Genetics.

The plant itself looks like it could go a couple of weeks yet. When I look at the trics under a microscope to me they all look cloudy.

Being a new grower I’m just looking for some help in identifying on where I may be at in my stage of life.

thank you!!!

I'm no expert, and can't tell for certain what I am looking at with some of your photos, but I will say that it is the trichomes on the calyxes that you need to monitor, not so much the ones on the sugar leaves. The leaves will mature earlier, at least mine did, and that is what I have heard others mention.

Having said that, you still have lots of white pistils on at least one of your plants, so I would guess that one is a week or more from done.

I assume that you already know that leaving plants longer generally shifts the stone from the more active side of the spectrum to the couch lock side of it. Lots of amber means more couch lock, but not all strains amber the same. My two indoor strains were slow to amber, and never developed much of it before I gave up waiting for it.

If the trichomes are all cloudy, then next question is....do you want amber trichomes mixed in as well? Which kind of high do you desire?
Most of the time it's a good idea to add a couple of weeks to the published grow time-frame.
I've yet to grow a plant when the trichomes are cloudy, yet the plant is still showing a lot of white pistils.

Looking at the plant I would say it needs more time but the trichomes do look all cloudy to me. So I would say the harvest window has opened.

When the trichome are nearly all cloudy the harvest window opens:

Some clear mostly all cloudy = a cerebral, racy high.

All cloudy with 20% amber = a balance mind/body high

All Cloudy with 40% amber = sleepy time/couch lock buzz

50% plus = over ripe.

Thanks everyone! It sounds like you are all kind of thinking what im thinking. If looking at the plant it still needs a week or two at-least but looking at the trichomes im at the stage of a few clear but mostly all cloudy.

I think what im going to do is let the plant go until I got a little bit of amber. This should hopefully let the plant fatten up just a tad bit more.

Thanks everyone!

Good plan. Just keep your eye on the actual buds, not the leaves. And enjoy that product soon to grace your cupboard. :pighug:
