Hi everyone, I recently finished my first grow, and ended up with about 33 grams of some nice Northern Lights. I had another plant that wasn't doing too well, so I decided to put her outside and see how she does out there, and so far, she's shown a lot of progress. A question I had about growing outdoors, though: What am I supposed to do when it rains outside? I'm assuming it's not good for the plant to get wet once it starts to flower, so what can I do to ensure that my plant still gets enough sunlight, but remains healthy and protected?

well if its an Auto, they will take a touch longer as a basic rule when doing em outside.if its early in flower shouldnt be an issue.the more flowers n tighter they are that when you have to keep track of em a lil closer for molds n such.if shes doing fine I really wouldnt worry imho.do you have any pics?you can pull em close to the house maybe,or cover em if you can get up n uncover em early.but in all honesty if its only the first few weeks into flower and they are doing well and have been outside for a bit now it really shouldnt matter. My dutch auto I did the same thing with and not had a single issue yet and its well into flower too.

Hi,
rain is really no problem for autos in early flower. Only later, if rains persist and there's not enough sun to dry the tight buds, mold and rot can happen.
It also depends on strain and bud structure, general mold resistence.

If you spot some mold, clean it asap to prevent the spread in bad weather. It can grow inside the bud, so attention is necessary.
I lost half of my ThinkDifferent harvest to mold, it rained heavily a week before chop.

The best thing for "outdoors" is a greenhouse:)

Do not touch them to see if they are sticky leave them alone unless you see rot then carefully pull the rot off. My son pinched a top of my only auto last year and where he touched it rot started. IMO autos when in bud need early sun as early as possible to dry them off PEACE AN POT

This is the NL I'm growing in my back yard. There's a bit of foliage over it but I'm going to trim it down later. There's not a lot of growth but there's some stretching it seems like. It's okay for the plant to get direct rain on it on it?
