Has any person heard of or have experimented with Colored perspex to change or increase spectrum intensity. Hangin a EG. Red Colored piece of perspex under a grow light may help with the flowing. The correct/best placed wavelength of light in the red spectrum may help plants bud better and produce more essential resin.

Has any person heard of or have experimented with Colored perspex to change or increase spectrum intensity. Hangin a EG. Red Colored piece of perspex under a grow light may help with the flowing. The correct/best placed wavelength of light in the red spectrum may help plants bud better and produce more essential resin.
I'm no expert but this sounds like a load of nonsense.
I may make myself look a fool here but I doubt it.
The range of lumens and type of spectrum is at it's peak when it comes from the light source, be it the sun or a grow light of any type.
If you put something in front of it you are most of the time going to be reducing the lumens/uv index/spectrum etc.
The only time you are not is with certain types of glass, often curved..this can concentrate the rays of light to a smaller area but never increases it, it is not a source of light so it can not increase the lumens etc.
The perspex is simply coloured, the best you could hope for is that all of the lumens make it through & hit the plant but the only difference would be that to you the light looks red but the plant wouldn't really notice a difference, the worst case is that you dramatically lower the power & quality of light reaching the plant.
You can however dramatically increase heat using glass or other types of material but again that isn't the same as what your aim is.
All I can suggest to you is look into the best type of reflector for the type of lamp you are using & if you haven't already, kit out your grow room with mylar.
You could also make a deliberate effort to set up a flowering/red spectrum grow lamp if you have not already, you could use it instead of or combined with your current lamp.
There will be plenty of people on here better informed than I on the artificial growing environment & ways to maximize efficiency so ill let them take over now.
