Hey everybody, last night I got a ph meter for milwakuee instruments. I tested my water supply and it sits at about 6.0. I tested the runoff ph of some of my plants and the run off was around 6.8 and they seem to be stunted. I flushed one of my plants in a 5 gal bucket with about 15 gals of water and the runoff reading is the same. I'm not quite sure where to go for here. Any advise would be very helpful!

Yes I did calibrate it with 4.01 and 7.01 solutions

Check calibration first...

But is there any supplemental lime (dolomite or otherwise) added in the soil mix? (i'm assuming soil...)

6.8 is a bit sweet, shouldn't cause stunting. I'd think when your nutes are added, you could adjust your pH to be on the lower end of the scale, 6 - 6.5pH to compensate?

Post more info and pics if you can! What soil are you using? are you using tap water? are you letting it sit out for 24 hours ? How old are your plants? What nutes are you using? The more info the better!

I am using roots organic soil with dolomite lime added 1tbsp per gal of soil. The water I use is gravity fed well water. I don't let the water sit for 24 hours. They are about 2 weeks old from sprout. I am using roots organic nutes but haven't started feeding yet. I checked the calibration of my meter and it was fine. Im using a 4x4 t5 running 24/0. The temp is between 70-79 and the humidity is between 54-60. The lighter colored one is a Skunk 47(photo) the other is a LA Diva(auto).

Hey mainemedical, hoping for the best.
How often do you water, the soil looks real moist. For a seedling, they don't require much water at all.

Also what are your plans for that photo plant, are you gonna veg it through the whole life of the auto. That's gonna be one nice size photo if that's the plan. :D
Again much luck

i justed flushed the soil thats why it looks so moist but ive only watered them twice so about once a week. and i plan on moving both over to my other tent in a week or so and vegg them under my 600w mh probably 24/0 light cycle until vertical growth stops on the auto. Then i will be switching to my 600w hps or maybe 1000 if it here in time and also dropping the lights to 18/6 for 2 weeks and then switch to 12/12 to finish both. so if i estimate correctly my photo should be about 8 weeks when i start flower so hopefully she will be a big girl

Does the Roots Organic soil all ready contain lime? If so, adding more may have pushed the pH too high. I just took a quick look and don't see lime mentioned in their product description. Does it say on the bag?

i dont have the bags anymore but i dont recall seeing it in the ingredients list when i got the soil.
