My sprout is very short with a very thick stem...Also the seed leaves are extremely thick and creased down the center with dark ends. They are also Kinda folded up at the crease. It started its first set of leaves right away as soon as it popped but hasn't done anything since. It's day three now. Germinated in rockwool strain is auto candy kush. ...Is the short stature or thickness something to be concerned about? Or the color?

Can you post a picture taken in natural light? It would be very helpful so we can see exactly what you're describing.

Hey and Welcome!!
Thanks for the pictures. I am not sure but she looks a little wet. At this point moist is good, wet not so much. I about killed my first one that way. Keep her moist and be patient, she should be fine. (of course just ignore me if I am not seeing what I think is wet) pH may be a tad high for a hydro, someone will check me but I believe should be closer to 5.8 at this point. I do not think stature or the cotyledons are anything to worry about either.
Beautiful setup and sweet photography too!
Peace and happy growing, plus a little :karma Cloud: for good measure!

thanks so much for the info!....and the praise. Im only about $250.00 into it

also im running a 2' 4bulb 24w ho t5 lamp with 2 3000k and 2 6500k bulbs anyone have any info on running flourescent's from start to finish. What should i be running for nutrients ? how much and when ?
my system is exactly 5 gallons. there are so many options :grat:

I am using a mix of CFL and LED. It's almost LED on one side and CFL on the other. Using a 240 watt LED and 12 23 watt CFL. I think they both work well, in my short tent I am beginning to think the LED may be a bit bright. Not much help... But the CFL side, the plants are nice and green and doing as well as the LED.
Ya, options, oh boy, options. There are lots!!One thing not an option is pH control. I have found in my short growing history that it is key to success and critical to the health of your grow. Especially with hydro as you have no soil to buffer with. I am using soil and started my second set of plants (can't count the first I am lucky she is alive!) on 1/4 strength nutrient on day 13. I started using supercharger, at day 3. I am a fanboy for Rock Nutrients and think they are great. You can check out the Q&A in the fert section. Detroit Haze is a member here and is from Rock, he is an invaluable resource.
Keep it up and keep asking questions!! You'll get great info here and it's a heck of a community too.

Could be PH too as wwwhillie mentioned - I think 6.5 is a little high for hydro, I thought 5.8 was optimum.
