Hi guys, I come with great fear. I hope some of you could share their knowledge with me.
5 pots. 5 seeds from Buddha Seeds. 3 Magnum, 2 of their new strain Calamity Jane. Today is their 11th day after germination.
All seeds were germinated in jiffys and then they went straight to their pots. They looked a bit odd from the beggining, but started to fold and look burnt only yesterday.
They have not been getting anything but water (Ph 6 straight from the tap) until yesterday when gave them a very light feeding of veg nutes at 1/4 the dose and some powdered mycorrizae and beneficial bacteria. Let me clear that the problems had already started before giving that fed, when they only had been fed water, thought that the ladies maybe were hungry, but the issue only aggravated.
The soil is a peat lightmix with just some nutrients for the first days. I have used this soil brand a few times with no major problems. It is a proffesional soil brand, not some growstore mix. It comes with added perlite, however, this time didn't come with perlite, which I thought it was odd, but I just grabbed some perlite bag from the store and mixed it myself. (in the pictures you will see no perlite at all, the mixed medium was topped with a bit of soil straight from the bag as the seedlings were growing to help the stems hold the weight, below that, where the roots are, I assure you that there is at least 30% perlite in the mix).
These are the specs of the soil.

Ph: 6-0-6.5
Fetilizer: 1,5 grams/liter
Could this be too much fertilizer? As said before, I have used this soil in the past without any issues, and these Buddha strains are supposed to be big girls, so I do not think they would eat less that anything I have grown before.
Another thing that could be happening is that I got a bad batch of soil? Since it didn't have any perlite aswell maybe something was screwed in their process?
Well, the soil is one of my theories.
The other is heat or light intensity. The light is a 400w Mh in a cooltube. The first 3 days the lights were 4 feet above the little sprouts, after that gradually started lowering the light, which was never closer than 19 inches. Did the back hand test and it was fine. Yesterday, when the leaves started folding raised the lights to 27 inches, but the problem only progressed, so do not think that light is the issue.
Temps have been around 84 to 90 degrees. I know that this is on the high side, but I have grown with temps higher than this, up to 100 degrees in a very hot summer, and never had this kind of issues. Still, I do not discard this possibility.
Oh, humidity has been around 40%/50%, could be higher, but is not too bad.
The last of my theories is that, since I had lost a couple of seedlings in my last grow due to damping off, I grabbed some anti fungus spray that contains copper sulphate. I might have gone overboard with it. I never sprayed the plants directly, but I sprayed the jiffys (lightly) and later the soil in pots. The plant that first started looking bad was getting yellow at the center, looked like an Iron defc. I have read that copper toxicity could trigger an Iron defc, so, could it be that the plants are being affected by it.
Fearing problems with a hot soil or the copper, today the pots were flushed with water, 4 times their capacity, finishing with light nutes. A few hour after the girls looked more burnt and twisted. So I have runned out of ideas. Any thoughs?
Thank you!!
