I planted my 5 year old seeds four days ago and my seeds haven't popped yet. I am using Sunshine mix [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] in 3gallon pots. I soaked the pots with about 1.5gallons of RO water each(until water poured out of the bottom holes). I stuck the tip of my pinky finger to poke a hole and dropped the beans in then lightly covered the tops over. I also stuck plastic wrap over the tops to keep the the pots humid.

Do seeds usually take this long to germinate?

Yes an in the case
Of older seeds scarification helps lots running a nail file along the edge it also is good to keep a nice temp I get excellent germination rates in warm temps .

Do you recommend I dig them up and scratch the surface? Or should I just wait patiently for them to pop?

Wait awhile longer an then dig a couple more days I just had a stubborn seed germ on me in 14 days although all her sisters were an are on there 3rd an fourth leaf set .An welcome to fan afn.

just a quick update, my Blueberry bliss seed popped :-) still waiting on my auto bubble gum, auto northernlights and auto whitewidow.

The outer shell fell off, but there is still (not sure what it's called) under seed film on the small leaves. I stuck a glass cup over the seedling to create a more humid environment in hopes that the leaves will fully open.
