New Grower seeds , light or gravity ?

ive just planted 11 seeds after a 12 hour soak but still see nothing after 2 days in soil mix ,they are in the boiler cupboard which doesnt get much light my question is are they looking for a light source or is it gravity that will make them sprout the right way up ? also where ive sprayed the soil it feels quite hard should i very carefully loosen the top to make it easier for the seedling to pop through ? this is the first time ive tried to germinate myself so am a total noob on this germination process , any tips / advise would be appreciated :no:

Usually the seeds should soak for 24 hrs or untilyou see them crack open slightly.I put mine under lights to germ but they will germ in the dark.What kind of soil do you have? It should not be hard if you used the right mix.Justkeep them moist and warm and cover them with some lastic wrap to keep them moist.Some strains take a while to sprout so jt be patient.

streilised seed soil no additives except the perlite i put in , the seeds are a mix from sweet seeds (sweet mix ) , i spray them with climatised water every 6 ish hours , i couldnt see any seeds had cracked in the water but they did get a 12 hour soak , ive just forked the top hardish layer of soil as it seemed hard to the touch , thanks for the advise i was a little concerned they were not getting enough light but you say they will sprout to the top in the dark so im ok

hi folks, i want to try this but i cant find easy answers anywhere can u help me?


250w digi ballast,either veg or hps bulb, 4" fan in 5" out, fan to circulate in a 32" x 32" closet, diamond reflector.

my questions are f from seed do you prpogate for 10-14days or dont u have to do this like normal seeds? , do you use veg bulb for first 5 weeks then change to hps or just hps all the time?

Hi Wolf , im no expert in the autoflower world and this is actually my 1st ever auto grow but i would start the seeds off under a veg bulb as blue light is the correct spectrum for babies for about the first few weeks( your hps is best for when the plant is turned into budding stage i think ) , as for the propagating personally ive dropped my beans in bottled water for 12 hours then put them straight into my sterile soil / perlite mix but im still waiting for them to pop through the soil and its been nearly 3 days in that soil so im getting a bit twitchy about them ....fingers crossed ,
As i say im no expert im just going by what ive read on here and from google but any question you have your probably better off opening your own thread with your questions as then some expert auto growers will see your questions and give you some great tips / hints ect . good luck with your project

i popped 2 then put in soil 3 days ago still nothing coming through but patince is a virtue they say so theve got a few days longer then i may have to pop 2 more lol

another question, would having the light on or of now that their in soil help or hinder?

Hi Wolf , 3 days is how long my seeds have taken but i did soak them for 12 hours 1st , did you soak them for any time ? if not they may take a few more days to show i woulda thought .........the light doesnt make much difference at the germ stage i think but it should keep them warm , if im right the temp should be between 20 to 25 for seeds so get a temp reading with the light on them , ive got a temp reader that has a metal probe on a wire that reads temp so i put this in the soil and the other end reads the temp of the air , your right about the patience my babies have nearly all popped through now just 2 out of 11 to show their pretty little heads lol so what seeds have you got going and what is your aim for this grow ?
