I started a couple of seeds a few weeks ago and I some potting soil left over from last year, that has been sitting outside all this time, so just used it as I was apparently too lazy to go get a new bag. They sprouted just fine and all seemed well but when they should have been to the point of ready to start putting on some serious growth, bot the plants started wilting and twisting in all kinds of weird ways. I tried nursing them back to health for a few days, with no success, when I noticed the soil had a green tint to it - bad soil.
I was just going to pitch them but I happened to have a Climax Auto that I was just putting in it's final home, with new soil, so I figured why not so cleaned off the roots somewhat and stuck them in with the Climax.
They have apparently lived and if you look , you can see a flower on the one in front. Who knows, I may actually get a really small but potent bud off of this since I have read stress can make for some potent stuff :)
For comparison's sake, the Climax Auto was started maybe 3 weeks after the small plants. On the climax auto, I started it inside under the lights but as it has been so nice, I moved it outside 5 days ago. I wish I would have taken a pic of it then because it is amazing how much it has grown in those 5 days. For me at least, no matter how good the lights, it is tough to beat out the real thing, even though it is getting less light per day.
just thought I'd share my bonsai plants
Edit - actually maybe those plants are only about 2 weeks older, I forgot to write down the dates on these
