Ok so first time grower here. Growing in jolly gardener potting soil with plant food. In a grow tent with mylar using cfls. I have thus far only watered with plain water no nutes. Yesterday I noticed small yellow and brown spots which I thought ight be light burn. So I turned of a couple of the cfls and raised the main ones from 2-3 inches to about 6. Today it has gotten slightly worse so I;m not sure what the problem is.

ALso my plant is almost three weeks old if that helps at all.

Have you been ph'ing your water?Turn your lights back on and leave them at six inches. You should give them some cal mag and see if stops your problem.

It looks like your soil contains slow release nutrients, which are known to cause issues when growing auto flowering plants. Being that your plant is only 3 weeks old I would recommend that you repot it in a different soil, one without the slow release nutrients. Also make sure you pH balance your water before feeding. Give enough so that about 10-20% runs out the bottom of the pot. Capture that water and test it's pH also. It's very possible that the pH is off and combined with the slow release nutrients, is causing your problem.

I transplanted today to fox farms ocean forest. I also phed my water and it was the highest possible by my liquid test. 8.5+ so I will be using ph down from now on to maintain adequate ph.

I wish you had asked before getting the FFOF. It has issues of it's own, mainly low soil pH right out of the bag. I would suggest you add 1 tablespoon of dolomite lime per gallon of soil mix.
