Going to run a few autos in a Guerilla grow on some rural property that we take care of... No worries about anyone coming around as its an old abandon house and its been 30 yrs since anyone in this family has been anywhere near this place. They live in NJ and inherited it and they think its cool to own land where the Indians roamed LOL. Ok enough about that.. Last yr we cut down a bunch of old dead trees on the property which then left a bunch of stumps that are deadly to the mower deck.. We burnt all those out and now there are craters in the ground.. I am thinking these would make great potting holes !! My plan on the dirt for these holes is as follows:
30% Natural soil
30% Promix
10% Rabbit Poo (thanks to the 4-h kiddos)
30% Perilite ..
Plan on going organic for the most part, will prob. top dress with some straw and more rabbit poo and only add water as needed throughout the grown.
What do you all think of that idea??

If it was me, I wouldn't do it. Go dig some fresh holes nearby and use those. I've heard planting near certain trees can be bad for plants. Be it the leaves that decompose, the 'nuts' that fall containing certain chemicals, or the roots that do something to the ground (enzyme maybe?) to inhibit new growth from taking hold and competing with the tree. That's what I heard anyways, I don't know specifics. Plus the residual ash in the ground from burning the stumps could potentially raise your ph too high. Also I assume you didnt just light the stump on fire with a match...so I assume some kind of fuel, oil, or other accelerant was used. The residue from that is now in the ground there as well and could potentially be toxic to you plants. Cannabis is also a good phyto-remediator...which means it removes toxins from the soil and distributes it to the top of the plant (the part you smoke). So for example if you used some old motor oil to burn the stumps out, the residue from that is now in the soil, which would eventually be in ur hashpipe...so just take a shovel with ya and dig some fresh holes somewhere.

If you want a "water only" grow, you're gonna need a richer soil mix. Search around this site for some TLO or "super soil" recipes and find something that's doable for you based on cost, 'cook time', availability of ingredients. The soil mix I made, decribed in the thread in my sig, I think totaled under $50...but it's still a little weak and would need additional fed nutrients once full bloom starts.

Hey brother. I agree with Shadow. Need a richer mix for water only and make new holes. Location sounds great, though! :check:

Ok.. They were old oak trees and not many tree left around except a couple of small pin oaks.. I do a lot of vegging gardening and I dump all my fireplace ashes on the garden in the winter, and its made a huge difference .. Was thinking since these holes are ash rich they might work.. New plots are not a problem since I have a tiller attachment for the tractor :)

We surrounded the oak stumps with lump charcoal and kindling .. Lit it and left it over night, the next morning there was a smoldering hole :)

Water source will be rain collected from the barn roof in a horse tank that has Rabbit Poo in it ... Ready made tea, I use it on my garden every yr..
