Hi,
I'm a new grower, I'm doing a simple 5 bucket DWC (and a few in soil) under 400watt LED, and later I'll add a suplimental 240 watt LED. I started 7 seeds a week ago in 1" rockwool cubes, 5 are fine, but the 2 Durban Poison seedlings are dark green and small and curling down and under. Not a big deal cause I can replace them, but I wonder why they are not well and the others are good? Overwatered cubes or too much light? The LED is on the blue setting about 22" away. I hear Flourescent are better for seedlings, but other sources say LED are good too on a blue light setting.
Today I transfered the good ones to the buckets with hydroton around it (Bubble Brothers 5 gallon). How high should I fill the bucket? I'm having a hard time finding good info on how to do the transition. The cups are unusual I guess, they have a 2" indent from the bottom middle, I guess for air to the roots. Any tips on how to get the plant fed till the roots grow down into the hydroton (without overwatering the cubes)? Any videos or books with good details you'd suggest? Thank you!

Not sure if I can help because I'm a new grower also..but your situation sounds similar to mine.. I started 1 seed in a cup of water for 24 hrs..then into a paper towel till it finally cracked..then into the 1"rockwool.. For about 18 days until I moved it to the bubble bucket.. Then 2 days later on day 20 from sprout.. The roots started coming through the rockwool..
Anyway.. I set mine up to where the water level is about half an inch below the net cup.. I guess the bubbles splash up there and keep it moist but not soaking wet..
As for your Durban poison.. Sounds like nitrogen toxicity..or could just be over watering..not really sure.. I'm still learning myself..I didn't think rockwool was over waterable..
