Grow Mediums Spacing for Sea Of Green (SOG) in Autoflower Hydro table

I am trying to decide how many plants to run the first time in my new table the dimensions of the foam boards are 12 inches x 36 inches the pots are 4 inch.

@FTF_damien50 i might have to reduce the size of the net pot to 3 inches to get 12 of them in each 1x3 foam board would that restrict the size of the plant too much because the roots would only be able to exit the very bottom of the net pot as the rest of it would be in the foam board

Might work. I dont know how well high density works in hydroponics compared to mediums or with autos as the technique is usually for photo clones.

Yeah me neither all the research i have done about autos in SOG says 1 to 2 per sq ft. might try some at 4 plants per 3 sq. ft some rows at 6 plants per 3 sq ft and one row at 12 plants per 3 sq ft.

Is this flood and drain or thin film? I think root mass is a bigger concern than the tops of the plants. I tried thin film with limited success. The roots formed dams and the tables would get backed up and flood the room! Fast plants like fast autos (90 days) were much better than Photoperiod plants but it was still a problem.

The beauty of the table design is that it can be used any way you see fit you can actually use it like a RDWC until the roots get to a length that you can use it like NFT and then if root mass becomes a problem you can use flood and drain or back to RDWC. I will be making videos of the table as i complete this grow. I plan to market these tables in the future as they are designed to be used with any grow method even drip irrigating in soil would be possible with the table design and they are made of stainless steel so they will be lifetime tables no corrosion or uv deterioration from nutrients or lights.
