Hi.

I am from the school of thought that believes you should pretty much starve a seedling of water for the first couple of weeks, within reason.

I am now going back to Biotabs and really don't like the initial pot soaking with 1 or 2 litres of water with orgatrex and bactrex. This just goes against what I believe about initial watering.

So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an alternative?

Could I plant the seed/seedling in non-soaked coco and the soak in a week or 10 days? I'm guessing the soak right at the start is because the beneficial bacteria and microbes etc take a while to get established?

How about doing the pot soak 4-7 days before I plant the seed into it? So the micro beats can get established but the pot can then dry out?

One of the above and start in a small pot and transplant?

I would be really grateful for any info/suggestions.

Thanks.

If I soaked a few days before planting and let the coco dry out a lot, will that wreck the newly formed micro heard in the pot?

Man I wish I didn't suffer from bloody anxiety!

@hippy71 Yoo mate!
Keep in mind: Don't panic it is, organic ;)

I understand where you are coming from.
We our selfs At Biotabs, start soaking with Orgatrex and Bactrex when we transplant a little plant, with minimum of 4 leafs in to the ' final' pot.
Then indeed they have past this first week you rather not soak them with products.

Me aswel rather start soaking the plant with products when it is well established. Although I have to say, I do use a little cheeky Boom Boom spray in the first couple of days but just 2 ML per liter of water.

Easy by nature, mate you will be fine ;)

Hey man! :pass:

Thanks, thats what I had decided. Start in a small pot and transplant to final pot and soak.

I use boom boom as soon as the leaves are big enough to support drops of liquid! :crying:

FYI, I soaked the coco with the Biotabs concoction a couple of days before planting the seeds and just gave them a little plain water on planting. Fingers crossed!
