Im going to start 3 auto mazar in 3 5 gal smart pots. I really want to get them all going good because the seeds are so expensive. Can someone please give me some advice to get all of the started. thanks for any advice.

I germinate starting in a cup of water (76 - 82 degrees). Leave them in there for 18 - 24 hours. Tap the seeds after 6 hours or so to try to sink them. After that I plant them in the soil (already moist). They might have a tape root making its way out of the shell by now. If they don't, I plant them anyway. After they are planted (1/4-1/2 inch down), the only thing you have to concern yourself with is temperature and moisture. Keep the temp within range, keep the soil moist and let them do their thing.

Temp really doesnt matter.

I have 4 auto cheese germinating in a ziplock in a wet paper towel in my backpack. They are doing fine.. already popping after 24 hours.

???????????????????????????? "Temp really doesnt matter" ??????????????????????????

what a strange declaration if temps didt matter than every thing would sprout all the time and the seasons would be pointless................

goauto is right, temps ABSOLUTELY DO matter to the germination process! I've gotten the best germination results when my soil temps are between 78-80 F.

I just wanna re-post this ...just in case you missed it!!!!

Not a lot of people know this but water doesn't really matter either. Just take your seeds and put them in bone dry, frozen dirt and they're good to go.
