i got a question bout male pollen.. i have 3 males that i had to place in the dark for about 13 hours while i constructed a new home for them.. they are currently in there new home. my question is, should i still collect pollen from one of these studs?
does anyone think the 13 hours of darkness stressed them and that i should avoid the pollen from them??

i have never attempted breeding before.. so i'll probably have plenty of qustions, any help is greatly appreciated.

also of the 3, how do i choose the male? im thinkin i should pick the most vigorous one of the trio...

The pollen from those plants will be fine to use. As far as which one to pick, it depends on what you are breeding for. If you want size, maybe the tallest one. Maybe one is branching nicely and you desire that quality. A vigorous plant is certainly desirable. I would avoid any plant that flowers late.

thank u for the useful info. out of the 3 males i have, one has a weird mutated leaf.. goin to kill this one. of the two left, the tall one has a stinky stem and the short one has nice tight spacing between branches.. think im guna use the small one because the tall one seems a bit stretchy.

i remember reading on this forum(i think) about when to pollinate the female and about how long it takes for seeds to mature, i just cant seem to find the thread, does anyone know of any such threads? or anything with helpful info on auto breeding.(yes i read the stickies.lol..)

damn.. thanx maul. thats the thread i was talkin bout. i need to look harder next time.. i hope this male blows his load soon i would like to pollinate my girls.

my boys finally started releasing pollen.. i didnt get much as most of the sacs have not opened up yet. both plants are russian rocket fuel. female plants are on day 41, so my window for pollination is closing.. i plan on pollinating two of the lower branches on my girl and i have a few questions...

how much pollen will i need? cuz i dont have to much.

should i cover the branches i pollinate with clear plastic bags since the the plant will be in my cab with other females?

also i have a femd eazyryder goin, can put some jiz on her to? even tho it was a femd seed?

Welcome to AFN, m.boogie! Muddy and maul have you on the right track... all the best on your seed run... you'll do fine. :peace:

what happened to maul??? his thread and all his posts r gone??

anyone else help out with my questions??

Maul wanted his posts removed.

You won't need too much pollen. I use a Q tip and dust some lower branches with a small amount of pollen. I get more seed than i need usually.

sure can!

thanx bailer.. goin to pollinate tomorrow.

Yes, you can do that, just open it daily to exchange the air. Or after you dust the branches, spray them with water. It will "set" the pollen and keep it from being transfered to other parts of the plant.
