I sprouted my seeds in red solo cups w/ a mix of worm casting and mushroom compost.after a week they are tall and leggy. They are sarting to lean over.Is there anything I should do.The seeds came from Shortstuff autoflower seed sampler

They are stretching for light. Since you posted this in the outdoor forum I assume they are outdoors? Can you move them to another place where they will get more light?

Thanx Muddy,I had them on the backporch under roof.I thought the sun might be too brutal in the open.I want to transplant when true leaves come out
When I transplant I'll bury them deep like tomatoes

Good idea.Maybe if the sun is to hot when you transplant maybe you can shade with somthing for a few days until the roots start growing.:smokebuds:

i usually hold the seedling upright for future growth if it falls over, paperclip, twisttie and stake, whatever.

after, when possible, i keep a light breeze on them to strengthen the stem, so they don't get used to the support, then remove it in a week or two.

Since they are still seedlings, best if you don't move them to full sun all at once. Give them a couple hours of full sun the first day, then keep increasing it daily. After 4-5 days they should be okay in full sun.

I'm a bit of a "naturalist" :) If the sun it's not too hot (above 28C) then the seedlings will be fine outdoors. You can put them bellow any other plant you have so it works as a natural shade.

if u bury them deeper. The the tall stalk/stem will turn into root within 7-10 days. this means u will get a bigger taproot out of it. plus it will give u more head room to work with. if you do this, then u will want to make sure that u plant it directly vertical. u dont want the stalk to be/get bent when u bury it, this would cause it to get ROOT TANGLE. root tangle is NO good!!!

Happy Farming!
