My tap water changes so much so often.
Some days I have PH 8, some PH 4.5 and EC swings from 0.2 to 0.8 its crazy.

I have a huge 1000l tank I fill with RO water.
Since getting problems in the past I could not explain I bought an RO system.
I still test my tap water and RO water very very regularly to make sure everything is right.

If problems occur and you are not sure why, please test the water.
Also dont think what you tested today will apply tomorrow or a few hours later.
Thats if your tap water is anything like mine.

Just saying :grin::tiphat:

And that applies to well water as well!! ( no pun intended...but I'll take it...lol ) It took me months to figure out what was killing my plants! for the first six months, the well water was fine, the Boom! my plant were dying rapidly. It wasn't until I switched back to DWC that I figured it out. So yes, test your water, test often. I'll bet a lot of issues blamed on PH are really some toxic level of a mineral in the water.

Yea man this is a big lesson for me.
Dont trust your water ever!

Mine must come from a whole range of suppliers to be so different so often.

Soooo true. My well water swings from high 9's down to 4's

Gee guys - not sure where you water comes from but where I am the city water is as close to perfect as one could ask for.

I really find it hard to comprehend that you get such massive swings. I can kinda understand it happening with well / bore water but not tap water. I have to count my lucky stars ! I feel for you guys!

Yeh same over here some Days the Tap Water is round 8.1-8.4 and then its in the Range of 6.3-6.6 really weird but ill test Ph at any Watering anyways so not the big Problem over here.

I wish I knew what is in mine that causes the problem. I recently tried adding 30% tap water to my RO water. 48 ppms. Should be fine right? NOPE started killing the plants I tested it on...........

My tap water comes in at an average of just over 7 most days but the water company add chlorine and fluoride among other things i always fill my container the night before and let it sit overnight then add nutes and test ph before watering

Tap water will change as different sources are used, lines are flushed by the water Company(chlorine and Chloramine typically), different circuits used for flushing and/or maintenance reasons, time of year affecting source water from reservoirs used and so on.
