Is there any point using teas and a nutrient program together? I have some mushroom compost left and was thinking of brewing some tea.

uhhh well depends on what type of tea we're talking about.if its like a basic trea with basic nutrition additions you can essentially add them sure, but you'll kill most if not all the life in the tea after its applied.and continued use will kill all life.you'll only gain the immediate lending of nutes in the tea n thats bout it.but you can certainly but i really dont recommend it at all.

Wondering, why would the life in the tea die?

your talking about a synthetic nutrient program i guess right??if your talking more an organic feeding like soup hitting of the soil nute feeding program that'll be different.but saying nute program means synthetic feeds such as FF and MG type foods..lol

Excellent! Thanks bro, I gotcha. I started using roots organics nute line and all are organic but there was some stuff sent called Big Swell it's a synthetic nute botanical extract, amino acids and carbs.

yeah actual chems are a really really bad idea man if your trying to stay organic.even soup styled is far better as far as even the quality of a solid chem grow.so itsa always better for quality to stay organic bro.Glad i could help man!

The real difference is whatever synthetic you add gets the nutrients to the plant with use of salts. It is the salt in any synthetic nutrient that is going to counter act any benefit you may get from the teas. It will kill any life you may have created in your pots each time you feed. When growing strictly organic you need to come up with other means to introduce those same nutrients to the plants in a more natural ways such as foliar absorbtion, bacteria at the root zone(enzymes to help those bacteria), and added nutrients in soil. So that is why a cross between the two does not work well but if you can stay away from salts I think there are some things that might work better together.

I add teas weather or not I'm using chems or organic nutes. When you add a tea most of the microbes are going to die anyways because you are not putting them in their ideal environment. They process soil though till they die. The ones that survive, yes some survive even with salt nutes, and those still strengthen the diversity of your soil.

I agree with this. There is nothing wrong with using teas and synthetics together and the teas will add flavor to the finished product that you won't get with synthetic nutrients. Like everyone has said, the microbes will mostly die off but there is a benefit to doing it. Not as big a benefit as you would see in a true living soil but a benefit none the less.
