Hey AFN!!! Got a few questions about setting up a grow tent.

With HPS, I have seen setups with the carbon filter in the top, but all the hydro/LED guys have the carbon filter sitting on the floor. I know with LED they dont put out a whole log of heat. I also know 80 to 85 is optimal transpreration(sweating) for plants, and the rez has to stay under 70 degrees.

Why would you set it up that way?

Could one of you LED/Hydro guys chime in please? Thanks for your input!!

I think it all comes down strictly to preference. I have a lighthouse hydro tent (piece of shit) that wouldn't hold up the phresh filter so on the floor it went. I got a grow labs tent and noticed a significant difference in build quality and I'm sure that tent would be able to support said filter. Thinking of puting the filter ontop is it free space up also air travels up, probably more effective ontop.... When it gets right down to it there is no wrong or right way to install filter...

I always keep my filter up top because my 4inch fan pulls air through the filter and exhausts it out of the tent. Heat rises, so i kind of assumed that maybe it would help to extract the hotter air out of the tent as it scrubs odor.

I have a 2'x4' tent that is only about 5 1/2' tall. Trying to put the filter on the top, inside the tent, above a light fixture didn't leave me much for vertical growth. So, I connected a duct to the exhaust hole in the top and ran it outside the tent and into the filter... opposite of what is normally done. If you check the specs on your Phresh filter (same brand I use), you will probably find it will filter in either direction. Mine works just as well pushing air into the filter as the one in my other bigger cab does by drawing it through. :peace:
