I just want to share this info about a meter that is bullet proof. If you are a budget minded grower then this meter isn't for you. If you are a grower that is going to be growing for the rest of your life and buying a quality product that will last until you die then this is the meter for you.
I found out about this meter from performing water tests on commercial heating and cooling systems in large buildings. It is a Myron-L ultra meter ll 6p. This meter is expensive however you can put boiling water from a steam boiler in it and test it, then take a sample from another source thats room temp and the readings are accurate. It does PH, TDS with custom conversion ratio, ORP, EC...
I have owned this meter for 6 years and i haven't taken care of it exactly how the instructions say, I have let it dry out for extended periods of time and then calibrated the meter and began using it, even after 6 years I only need to calibrate it every 2 months because it stays at + or - .2% the entire time I calibrate it when it reaches + or - .5 %.
With this meter you don't dip it into the water, instead you put a small sample of water into the testing reservoir. The company does sell replacement probes but after 6 years I have never had to replace it. I remind you I haven't even taken care of this meter and it still is reliable. If you would like the meter to end all meters then you should get this one.
I will give a link to the manufactures website, it isn't the cheapest place to get one, I will let you research that, I know there are used meters on ebay that are much cheaper..
