White Sirius & Speedy Gonzalez Test Grow

=> beans courtesy of Stitch <=

*I'm having some issues with the Speedy Gonzalez, I think I waited too long to plant one seed, another didn't germ, and the last one is cracked, but I'm trying. I think something happened during shipment, they may have sat in a hot truck or warehouse and dried out, it was extremely hot every day this summer, so not Stitch's fault.

The White Sirius germed within 24 hrs. Both plants are a narrow column showing a classic Kushy structure, with very vertical branching. I am very excited about these plants, the few kushy phenos of Blue Himalaya I've had matured at least a week earlier than the later maturing phenos, and had a nice coating of resin befitting a hash plant.

Sweet Skunk & ???

For some reason I did not keep track of my freebie beans while germing, but I think this is auto AK, no breeder name, just auto AK. She is picking up flowering momentum and is already sticky and smells absolutely delicious, like fruit punch.

Sweet Skunk is one of my favorites because of the "up" buzz that gives me energy, good for motivation if that is ironic. This one is about 24" as I led her to stretch by my placement of the LEDs. This is about as big as I can handle for now, and really if I had another LED in there I could probably get a much fatter harvest, but it works for now :)

The CFLs hang on the ends of the switched-OFF Blackstar, which hangs left to right if that makes sense, and illuminates the middle area. I try to rotate the plants 180 degrees every day, as well as swapping their positions in the cab.

The Sweet Skunk is just starting to turn the corner ending the stretch phase and going into budding.

Mystery Plant/AK47 is a week or so ahead in terms of flowering, the white clusters are growing each day, and there is already some visible resin.

Haha...8 regular Kush Van Stitch arrived today! What a great way to start the weekend.

I keep having germ issues lately, so I've put 3 beans onto the germ dish (wet paper towel), 1 Mohan Ram, 1 Blue Himalaya 3.0 (my inbreeding), and the last Speedy Gonazalez, which was cracked so I planted the other two.

The BH is regular, didn't think of that. Either way if it grows it's useful, my pollen stores are not in a fridge or anything, so not sure if it is still viable. I'm thinking not, several month old in relatively high ambient temperatures...oops.

Anyone ever try The Joint Doctor's Betty Boo (mazarXlowriderXlowrider2)? I'm thinking I could squeeze a whole bunch of those under the Haight, and with a max height of 12" light intensity shouldn't be a problem. Indicas tend to do well under the LEDs.

Anyway, I need to produce just a little more per month to meet my needs, so I'm going for a few less plants and larger plants, but the Betty Boo idea, once I did a seed run, is an interest concept, the whole grow could be in a very small space...

Man, poor Speedy Gonzalez didn't germ at all, so that''s 0/3. Too bad, I was looking forward to some diesel, never had a diesel plant before. I'm having extreme germ issues, I have like 6 of my Blue Himalaya seeds that don't look like they're going to pop after 2 days. I put 2 KVS beans onto the germ dish because I really need at least one other plant. I was able to get a Green Poison to sprout, but it is in soil now with the shell still on. Seems like lately the shells are just too tight, I have no idea what that means

I decided this plant wasn't going to yield enough to justify it taking a place under the Blackstar, and also I'm out of smoke, so I'm just cutting nugs off and either air drying, or more likely using my patented microwave and fan technique.

It tastes pretty green of course, but very sweet and fruity, reminds me of some mexican I got in cancun, it is quite potent in the head at first, then settles into lethargy and general stonededness after 30 minutes to an our, I never time these things.

A shame I am not letting plants go the full distance, but that means I need to think more about yields, and the first step is going with proven 3rd generation indica autos.

I have a feeling this plant was 2nd generation, with amazing fruity sweet smell when rubbing the live buds, and good potency, but a weak structure, I just had a feeling she was going to be very good, but compared to the Sweet Seeds I have the most experience with, no comparison.

This bean was an AK-47 freebie, I think, with no breeder info, so it's probably for the best I don't know, as I wouldn't order this one again. This is only because I am pushing my system, for any hobby grower the fruity smell and sativa influences in the buzz make it worth a try., perhaps as an alternative to skunk.

I'll put of some pictures of my Sweet Skunk, she is nearly 3 feet and is kind of intimidating as I have never grown such a large plant before.
