Hi guys,

I'm getting leaves (pictured) like this on the upper canopy of the plant. The leaves are going real lime green compared to the usual dark dark green and in addition I'm getting brown/yellow spots. What should I do?

Its under a NL LED and it's in a 20L airpot. I uses canna soil and nutes (I don't mess about!) and everything was going GREAT until about 2-3 weeks into flower. Now buds have matured WAYYYY too early, with lots of brown hairs, and the leaves are going lime green. I know I can get a huge yeild out of this bitch if I can turn it round. The trouble is, I'm not sure what to do.

Previously I was only watering/feeding with 2ltrs at a time. I thought at first it might be nute deficentcy so I gave it 4L of 1.1 ec canna etc and no difference at all. After this I thought it might be nute burn so I watered with 8ltrs of 6.5 ph water to flush it. A week later? No difference again.

So in short. I've tried - not water, flushing, feeding, starving, raising the light, turning the fan on or off and thats it. NOTHING has made any difference.

Like I say, I normally get a huge yeild and I've stuck in in a 20l airpot and scrogs it. I would really like to turn it around. PLease help someone.

Although not pictured - the hairs turning brown on the buds is a MAJOR issue with this problem

Hi Oily, do you know the pH of your soil? Do you check it, with a soil meter, or by checking juice going in and runoff coming out? Not a great photo to prove it, but it looks like the pH is wonky. Can you post a pic of the plant canopy itself?

I'll try to get one asap. Nah, I don't check the runoff PH. the soil is made by canna and all water and feed is put in at ph6.5 . Sound good?

EDIT - i don't have a soil meter by I have a good quality ph meter which is what i use to set the water and feed input. Could this be used to test runoff? It's going to be a huge pain trying to get some runoff water due to the fact its in a scrog and and airpot. But hey ho!

Now you mention it. I think i remember seeing something about canna products and soil do not need to be ph adjusted as there is stuff in the soil that regulates that. Of course i didn't believe it and did it my way and juust made sure everything that went in was 6.5

Best thing, if you can swing it, is to get an accurate soil meter- google Accurate8, great tool and worth every penny- Without a decent run-off (spaced the airpots..) the digital pH meter will be a challenge. I've heard others test soil pH by taking a palmful of soil from their pot, mix it in a mason jar with some water pH'd to 7 for a few minutes, then let it settle and test the water in the jar. That could give a decent sense of what the pH is, without a lot of hassle. Let's see if one of the gurus around here can add detail to the soil mix method, as I've never done it on my soil, but thats because of the Accurate 8. Best to you.

Yeah, they say it'll buffer, but I've seen soils and nutes that didn't read the marketing literature..lolol I have 2 bags of Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, out of the bag one read 6.7 pH, the other 4.95!! Must have mixed the 4.95 bag on a Monday lol

Thank you my man. I'm not sure if I can stretch to that right now. I've blown a fortune on this over the last 2 years and still don't have everything :D (Went from hydro to soil). Thanks again and GL

It just seemed unlikely to me that everything would balance and work out to hold such a specific ph.

The biggest shame of all this is the thing was in absolute BEASTMODE up until this problem. I would have been baked for MONTHS dude

Try the soil in water pH test. It might give the answer needed to turn her around, Brother. And, pH troubles are lessons worth learning in the Ganja growing world.. Every so often, I get one pot that didn't get the pH memo. I'm getting better at anticipating it, before it gets too far out of whack. Peace
