New Grower Topping auto's

Generally auto's should not be topped. If topped you lose a week of growth/yield. However some autos like super autos can be topped as their growth is more vigorous. You can try fimming(half of the new shoot leaf is cut off). Or entire fimming(all 5 finger leaves have the finger tips cut off). This method is often used in cloning to reduce energy to the leaves and more energy sent to the root system.
