Mephisto Genetics Topping Memphis to Strains-any to avoid?

I'm growing a sour crack, SODK, and a Ripley OG at the mome t but have a few other strains I'm going to germinate soon. I want to try topping g for the first time..any strains that I shouldnt do the too?

In my opinion, no need to do much to short stuff aka sour crack. You didn’t mention this one but me and another AFN member reported “issues” messing with Grapey Walter. She was topped at 4th and lst’d. Void of anything big in the middle of plant. I can say my GW will not be manipulated next round.

I agree. Don't top any small Indica Autos.

I had a CDLC self top. It was a nightmare to get thru. So short you couldn't find the pot. Had to water with a funnel. Let the small ones go, maybe lite LST and a little leaf tucking.

CDLC is not a small strain, however it goes to show certain strains do better untopped.

I’m curious about the Ripleys OG, can she handle a top at the 4th or 5th under quantum board lighting?

I’m curious on this subject too. I’m going to ferociously top one ghost toof. Mainline attempt. Already topped once. Think I have to top again. The other I’m going to leave natural.

However, I have removed the very bottom most node from all my two week old plants. They only have about three nodes. But I wanna cut off that very bottom bud effort early in an attempt to spike larger main buds.

The bottom branches on my LR’s I cut off on one plant and not the other. It was just too far underneath those crazy tight canopies. Both plants put out kinda medium sized buds on most branches.

I kinda want to top my Ripleys OG as I have never actually done so before. I’m just curious if that will work for me... or against me

Yes. I topped 2 over the summer and the buds still were big enough to be falling over and breaking. It was partially journaled here due to laziness. It was my first auto grow, first with my 135 watt QBs and 1st with my auto pot system but still think i did very well. Topped at 4th if i recall(cutting 5th off) and was maybe 35 ish days? Can't really recall at rhis point but they dis very well.

Anything sativa leaning loves to be topped. ROG will take to topping and training nicely if done right. But I abuse all of them unless they are super squat Indica. But even those tend to get stretchy when topped. All mephisto run below.
