Two sweet seeds red poison seedlings giving me issues

damn, Canna is usually very good stuff,... Lunar' mate, can you do a run-off pH and EC/TDS test on the straight coco itself, like make up a small batch? This will show us something at least; it's also weird that the coco is showing that high in pH,... your germ' method isn't the problem here, though for paper towels, I still rinse them in clear water first,.... good on the prep' too, not too rich for nutes, no sign of burn,.. this overall paling out isn't caused by that...--- Huh, the others in the same batch are fine you say?-- I hate this kind of mystery! it's very weird that both RP's did the exact same thing, while the Crit's are thriving,... well, funky seeds aren't out of the question,... strain tolerance differences may be in play too,... one last thing, the A8 unit, is it buffed nice and clean before testing, and let sit for a couple minutes? The way they work, the bi-metal tip needs to be super clean to work best,...

Thanks for the ideas and posting some help @Waira

You are always reliable to help out!

I tossed the RP's. I have two more germinating in Rapid Rooters now. I just figure the first two were not going to be much good later on and I'd be better off a month from now with two that did not start out in such a rough patch.

I always clean the A8 after every use. And I tried to keep it away from the air when not in use. I'll buff it extra though in the next day.

I need to look at my coco and ph'd water more. Do some testing while I wait for the new gals to germinate. Good time to load up my unused autopots with some PH'd water with diff solutions and measure the PH of the coco. Get them in a good spot and ready for the next two RP's.

I feel pretty confident in saying that I on average use water PH'd from 5-6 depending on what I think I need to do and the A8 reads back about 6.5 in the coco no matter what I put in for water. Hard to say with the GH PH solution I use. The color or yellow and orange and inbetween can be inaccurate I think. I am going to get a PH tester for liquid. The A8 is good for a probe, but I prob need more accuracy measuring the water going in the pot. And I'll clean the A8 really well like you said.

....:smoking: happy to help mate! .... oh my yes, in coco, you need a decent pH meter, with the proper storage and calibration solutions, and an inexpensive TDS/EC meter,... the latter is a far better judge than simple voluetric measurements for nutrient conentrations.,...EC/ppm's tell you exactly how much is going in there! ...ditto for the pH meter; pH is a logarithmic scale, meaning a +/- 1.0 jump is in fact a ten-fold increase/decrease-- here, decimals really count! .... the A8 is just a faster, easier and more accurate way to check actual in-pot pH, and of course is absolutely not meant for liquids,... only in coco really, can you use run-off as a half-way decent estimate of in-pot pH, IF you've been good about the 15-20% run-off with each feeding,...and using the TDS/EC will tell you if you're cycling nute salts out like you should,...r-o should be no more than about 230ppm higher than your inputs,...
With the A8, I buff it out before using it right away, after it's been stored for a day or so, and wipe clean with a damp towel after each use,.. this keep tarnish and corrosion away which will TARFU it accuracy otherwise,...
