Hi There,

Im looking to start my first UK Outdoor Cannabis grow,

I have a nice open space to grow as many plants as I want with minimal risk of detection,

Im just wondering if I have left it to late on in the year to start growing my plants now?

Im looking to plant around 20 seeds does anybody know any good strains that will grow well in this climate (Im In Cheshire)

I will be starting the grow on the 1st of August, that leaves me 8 weeks till the end of October

If anyone could shine a light on this that would be great,

Thanks In Advance

Terry

Purple Maroc is what you want. Grows quite well late in the year. A friend of mine in Manchester is always planting these in a private golf course for personal use and he's always getting decent yields without much trouble with things like mould. I was thinking of throwing some in the garden last week but decided against it since I prefer more of an Indica strain.

If you want an auto strain that apparently does well outdoor in the UK there's Auto Frisian Dew. Anyway whatever you decide good luck to you mate.

Hi Supernaan, thanks alot for your quick informative reply! Im just wondering, when it comes to an outdoor grow in the wild is it better to use compost or try and treat the soil that is already there? Do I need to have the seedlings growing in pots at home and then transfer them to my site or just plant the seeds straight into the ground? I dont want to have to go back to the place until the crop is ready because its very hard to access, Will the plants have all the nutrients they need in the soil that is there or will I need to add any?

Sorry about the long reply but you seem to know what your talking about and seem very clued up :)

Well my mate grows on his windows till they're about a week or two old then just plops them in cheap watered multi purpose soil bags and digs a hole at the golf course and lowers the bag in. The Purple Marocs can grow very very tall so if height is an issue you might want to consider another strain like Frisian Dew or perhaps another purple strain like Purple Mazar. Planting in random patches of soil could be bad because you don't know what's been seeping into the soil in that area. Cheap small multi purpose compost bags at Wilkos/B&M will be better just keep the bag on and cut the tops off so its like a makeshift bag planter. You could mix your own nutrients into the soil bags but its outdoor and you'd rarely probably visit the site so best to leave it to nature. Its a weed. It will grow without your help. You'll get good yields still if you plant the Purple Maroc. Smoke? Not a purple fan myself but its a good sativa. Better than the 'blues' or cheese we get on the streets.

Oh and you might want to keep an eye on the weather and hope there's rain every week or so if not you'll probably need to go water it.

Get some gardening mesh at B&M too. Put it around the plants to keep out critters. Might as well buy a cheap 99p slug trap too.

Thanks supernaan, your advice is greatly appreciated! Where is the best place for me to get the seeds? I've had a look on google and found http://www.cannabis-seeds.co.uk/ selling them at £34.99 for 10, is this a good price? Thanks again :)

check out dope seeds .com there quick to deliver as well

Thanks Eggstylen, have you ever grown Purple Moroc yourself? The reason I ask is because I'm wanting to leave them unattended and I'm wondering how many days they take to grow from start to finish, what I'm hoping to do is plant them and leave them unattended then set a date in my calendar to go and cut them down when there ready, thanks again guys your helping me out an awful lot

I think your a bit late mate for a UK outdoor? Ideally beans should have been started indoor last month or earlier

I know I keep banging on about these seeds but magic dragons sound like what you after
(not even sure if available? but know other dragons are)

I was gifted half a dozen I think? and germinated before I went on holiday for 2 weeks in 1 ltr airpots, filled the tray up with water and got on the plane, 2 weeks later ended up with 6 healthy plants with soil covered in algae but ended up my most successful outdoor grow

You need to get your finger out buddy and plant anything you can, this sun aint gonna last long!

Just to add, your 8 weeks is optimistic, growing outside in the UK you can add a month to that which will take you well in to November, and at that part of the grow will lead to all sorts of problems
