I use the runoff water from my A/C system. It starts life at PH 7.0-7.3 with about 60PPM. After I mix up a batch of nutrients, the PH is always less than 5. Usually 4.85-4.90. Precursor1 seems to have a strong vinegar smell which may explain why that nutrient drops the PH so much.

Can I use less precursor to reduce the PH drop?

I grow in Coco, so I add CalMag before I do the final PH adjustment. This doesn't seem to change the PH at all.

Overall, I'm trying to reduce the need to adjust my PH so much. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Last thought, my plants look amazing. Very happy

Precursor 1 has several natural acids and lowers the pH, you can add a little less if you want to or add a little more Bio-Si which will raise the pH. The nutrient system is customizable to your setup.

I can’t say what’s in your AC runoff but do you mix it with another water source? It seems to be picking up something from the AC system to get to 60ppm

I’ll do some adjusting with the Bio-Si and see if I can raise it up a bit.

Does the PH up have any effect on the plant over the course of the grow? If it’s neutral I won’t worry about it and allow for it. I have Atlas Scientific brand right now.

Need some information and this thread is similar to the thread I would have started so I'll ask here. @prescritionblend I'm growing a northern lights auto in FFOF soil using your nutrients. It seems that I may have a Manganese deficiency pics for reference. I have an EC probe for soil PH at the roots and the PH at the roots is showing 7.5. Last feed/water, PH in was 6.5 PH out was 6.6. Asking what I should do to reduce soil PH. Do I need to flush and feed or can I reduce without a flush by increasing Precurser or using lemon juice or vinegar. Thanks in advance for any input.

@Ausican pH up/down products should not have an impact on the plants over the course of the grow cycle. They are made from things like citric or phosphoric acids and potassium hydroxide. These things wont affect the nutrient solution as long as they are used as intended. If you want to adjust the nutrient mix to come out at the pH you want using your AC run off then give it a try.

@Nadnerb pH7.5 at the roots is high and can cause issues. If your feed goes in at 6.5 and out at 6.6. then something happening in your root zone is causing this fluctuation. I would recommend mixing a lower strength nutrient solution at ~60-75% concentration and adjust to pH6.1-6.3 and use this to slowly feed and get more run off then you normally would. Precursor 1 does lower pH but its not intended to be used as a pH down product, it will work if you don't have other options.

Thanks! Will do.
