I read that some strains of dwarf AFs ( like AK 47 ) do not require use of filters / extractors because they do not smell strong , is this the case and if so , would something like a small oscillating fan be enough if you were looking for a small yield of 2 - 4 plants ?

All autos smell at some point i would have a carbon filtter no matter what just to be safe unless smell isnt a problem

well , that is part of it , but I was also looking for ease of use as Im disabled .
I could prob get my someone to help assemble the fan in a tent as I got a spare room ( sort of ) ,but its all the other stuff I want to minimize.

The whole reason I was curious because of this post on another forum elsewhere that suggested aerogarden might be an easy / cheap option for noobs , partly I assumed ,because he suggested there is a lack of smell so need for noisy fans and extra ££ too

Having said that I also read some folk saying , there were other problems with this setup as well that would have to be modified in case the plants grew too high.
