I would like to make a true veg tent out of my 2x4. I have a Spare sp250 to use. Is it worth it to invest in a cooler spectrum like Bspec, budget led veg spec, or a cob 5000k or just use the sp250 at a lower wattage?

@Jimbud Grab one of these. It will add a bunch of blue to your existing light and make a veg light.

Depends on how much stretching is a problem for you if the sp250 will work. I am also trying to determine the best veg light for a 2x4 and from what I understand 5000k lacks red. 4000k seems to be a good spot that minimizes stretching but it isn't impossible or a hindrance to veg at 3000k.

I'd just run the 250 dimmed and put the money somewhere else.

What @FTF_damien50 said. I would give it a try for a grow and see how it works. If you get more stretch than you want, think about supplementing then. OTOH, I sit at the low end of the light tech spectrum, as it were. :goodluck:
