I have done a lot of reading on 1000watts connected to timers go up in flame...and I'm paranoid as hell over a fire

I have a dimmable JD lighting 1000 watt ballast that's dimmed to 50percent that I turn off manually now.

I was wondering what timer do you use for your 1000watt?
how long have you used it and for how long? And are the power strips with timers any better?

I've been hearing about a relay what's that? I mostly want it just to shut off when I'm gone but not always...my house is 120 volts too

Hey brother I've used this for my 1000W ballast for a couple of years now (same one) and never had any problems, they run about $15 USD:
