Live Stoner Chat Water disposal question?

City sewer systems don't like it as nutes cause rapid growth of microbes etc that theor system is not designed use. In your septic system the amount you pump in feed the micro life that much the same as what's in your soil. It actually make you system more active, breaking down waste faster. Your septic tank is really a big compost bin.

Thanks muddy, i had it done about 2 years ago.. think it was around 300 dollars, not to bad. I will remember that yeast trick you just mentioned.

The frequency is dictated somewhat by how many people are in the house and the size of the tank. Mine is 1,000 gallons and it's just the wife and I, so I can easily go 7-8 years without any fear of solid buildup. Speaking of which, I probably need mine pumped next spring.

I was under the impression that chemical nutrients killed organic microbes?

I've been led to believe by grow store folks (so grain of salt there) that it isn't a case of synth nutes INSTANTLY killing off
microbes, just that they are "less conducive" to the microbial population and that it's a little like living at higher altitude and
having to get used to less oxygen. Not an "on contact" killer but slightly parasitic as opposed to symbiotic.

There's nothing in most of them, that's not in the soil, minerals are mineral. Also the concentration is low enough that its not toxic to them, and think of what they're growing in! Things like Liquid Plumber, etc will kill them though. And thing what goes down your drain besides what you flush...all kinds of household chemicals yet most septic systems continue to run just fine. and also, if your ppms is say, 800, in 60 gallons of water, what is it when added to 1000 gallons of sewage?

Personally I think the acids in most pH down products are a lot more harmful to the myco herd than chemical nutes. I'm using chemical nutes right now and see no difference in my root structure or the size or health of my roots.

pop and Muddy have it. If you want to prolong the periods between pump outs avoid putting substances like bleach in your septic system. The dilute substances, in 60 gal. of your res water, won't make a difference. If you're worried add some septic system booster. Good Luck!

I've been dumping mine on a lagustrum (sp) bush for a few weeks now and she is about 3 feet taller than all the rest lol
