Problem: Cotyledons have yellow tips. First set of true leaves taking long time to develop. Not growing any taller.

Medium/grow method: Using FFOF. In solo cups now with plenty of drainage holes. Flushed soil with plain bottle water 2 days prior to planting.

Feed: and supplements used: None

water source: Bottled water Ph’d @6.5

Strain/age: White Widow x Big Bud Auto by Female Seeds

light used: 130w Actual Draw LED. (Two 3k 3535smd Cob lights with 16 3w Epiled LEDs)

Climate:75-85 Degrees Fahrenheit
50%-60% RH

Additional info: Know you should plant germinated autos in final medium but tried to flush the FFOF before planting and soil was way too wet.

She is drowning if pot was soaked and straight ff then she wont need water for first 2 weeks. Let her dry and by the looks of it it wouldnt hurt to elevate pot and put fan blowing under.

Next time cut soil with more perlite and water on outside edges at young age so they have air and water.

I also think the medium is much to wet. 2 things I do at this stage in the newborns life which I believe is the most critical. I mix Fox Farm Ocean Forrest with Happy Frog and Coco Loco, the reason for the Coco is simply for better drainage. I use 1 part of each. When I water during this stage I allow the soil to get close to being dry, but not dry dry, if that makes sense. I also water around the plant (with that said I never transplant rather I plant them in their final home right from the start, anywhere from a 2 gallon to 5 gallon) to encourage the baby root system to 'stretch' out and seek the life giving water. At this point in the growth I want to see tiny healthy leaves but am not concerned with the plant staying small as I want all her energy on developing her root system. Very critical for future success. A baby root system doesn't require much, and over watering could drown them, they need O2. I haven't found Ocean Forrest to be hot for seedlings, but many have reported this, yet another reason to cut it some with a mixture of coco loco and any other brand. I have used Fox Farm soils for years with great success, never do I give nutrients of any kind in this stage, that doesn't come until the plant is a juvenile at around day 21 or so......depending on strain. In the early stage of a seedling I focus on building a microbial and beneficial bacteria population in the soil, something which pays HUGE dividends down the road. If you are interested I document this in my Grow Journal.

Don't worry abouit the seed leaf tips deing a little yellow because they are there just to feed the plant until the roots start suppling nutetrients. As long as the other first leaves are not yellow she will be fine.

:toke: part of the problem is likely that damn FF soil, OF is the [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] problem soil we see here,... usually way off pH, and even that little flushing may not have helped much... OF is generally to hot for seedlings. As for the pH, you'll need a good soil pH probe to test that, run-off testing is crap for actual in-pot pH accuracy. The Accurate 8 (long probe here) is a nice choice -->:phsoil: ...... How close are the lights? Seedling hate overly intense light, they need less during this stage,...
