Going to make hash, oil or whatever? Great idea! But after you cut those beautifully trich'd out leaves while manicuring, where do you store them and for how long?

I have searched pretty well and have not been able to find the middle process of what and how to store, in what way to store (RH, temp & etc.), and for how long.

So tell us how and what you do and let's make this thread sticky worthy!

Go!

Finally found something!:

In order to be ready for smoking, the THC oil must be dried. At the same time in order to allow mechanical skuffing, the plant material must also be dried. It is not necessary that the skuff be ``cured’’ as buds are, because the vegetable material will not be used in any way. But I have found that the skuff needs to be thoroughly dried over a long period of time, at least a month, though I prefer two. Skuff processed before that time is not as potent as it should be, and the resulting hash seems never to dry properly to gain the potency back.

I just let air-dry on paper until they are crunchy (~3 days) - then jar them up and store in a cool dark place until I have enough to make oil. After a few harvests - Hash time! Simple, and I've always gotten great results.

Edit: I just checked my trim jars for RH - and they range around 52-56.......stored at 76F in the dark using canning jars - still crisp to the touch (meaning the leaves break like glass when squeezed). Smells very nice.......now I'm hungry......

I store my leaf/popcorn buds in the freezer until I have enough to make bubble hash. 5gal bags takes a lot of leaf.. dry leafs sux for bubble (they breakup and turn bubble green and nasty) so fresh work best but you cant store them fully wet or the trich will bust so I dry them for 1 day just enough to take some moisture out then freeze... after 6 months set the frozen leaf out and they smell like they were just clipped...

If you're planning on using it for oil, then a dry isn't even necessary. I would suggest you do a water cure on it first to remove the taste and smell. After a week of the water cure, straight into the crock pot with the oil.

i throw mine in the freezer a couple days after clipping.i tried the bubble hash!!! not a big fan.i made 8 grams a few months ago and gave it away after smoking a half gram.it was strong however i like the slow stoning effect of weed not hit like a big train run over you effect of hash.in my younger days i lived in germany so i smoked alot of hash ,was great--i must be getting old huh!!! now i lke highs like sex--slow and easy--long lasting effect.
