New Grower what ya think about this LED light

No offense but I'm helping a friend grow w/ that light right now and it is worthless ... If you're gonna buy an LED spend the money for a name brand like Blackstar or Advanced LED or any of the LEDs that get spoken of and written up here as working in grow journals ... I suspect that this light is not really 3 watt chips ... I have seedlings under it right now and they don't even react to the light (turn to face it) ... I run two Advanced LEDs and they work ...

:toke:

Only buy reputable brands with leds
the link does not work
90w will not do a decent size grow space it will do maybes 1 plant and 200w of your cfl would yield lots more
what size is your room

I have a 90w ufo with 45 3w leds running at 2w. This is supposed to add to the life of the led. It is not the same ebay light above. It has different wavelengths than the one above with 2UVs and 2 IRs. My 90w also has a 90 degree angle focus which helps concentrate it at a 1.5 footprint at around 30 inches .

I also have the Blackstar 135 w and the plants seem to like them equally but best of all is overlapping them to cover 2 feet very well. The Blackstar is quieter. I have a ChocSk (3L airpot)under them now that is 28 days, 20 inches high and 20 wide and starting to flower. I only have a 28 inch by 15 inch by 48 inch high space so this works great for me for four girls at various stages.

Griever, do you know what the ks on your energy savers are.2700k or 6500k or other?
Sometimes, on the bulb they have a D for daylight(6500k) or a SW (2700)for soft white.
