Puffman ... can the Solo be used plugged into the wall ? How many full sessions (heat up to vape) can be done on a charge ? I have several NO2s ... how does the Solo compare in Vapor and amount used and taste and your overall impression of one over the other ... I'm looking for a new portable that serves for home use too ... I have an iolite that I've never gotten accustomed to ... Thanks for your input ...

i prefer the solo only cos of the glass whip and its a better build with less plastic,
the solo cant be used and charged at the same time like you can do with the n02 but if used and charged regularly, you have no issue, each time you turn it on you get a battery light flash so you know how much you have until you need to charge.

The n02 charger cable breaks with regular use while plugged into the wall, but its not a big deal just buy another.
its realy up to personal preference, budget and what you like the look of

Suprised they dont have the PAX, but If I had to choose out of what is on the site, I'd go with the solo!! Most reviews and best reviews, and I hit one a few times this summer.(buddy owns the solo) Agreed the MFLB is a go to portable as well, if you go MFLB, get a spare battery!!

The Solo Boss is here! *LOL* I LOVE these and everyone that has used mine has got one too. Not everyone, but many. I even have two for myself. :-)

The new ones can be plugged into the wall. The charge holds really long. I can use it myself for an entire day without recharging. That is a weekend day by the way. I use this at home mostly but I dislike smoking any other way now. Smoking a joint just seems strange now unless I am with others.

That is the only think I don't like about the Solo but you have the same problem with most vapes : You have to use the mouthpiece like a straw. If I wouldn't want to share a milk shake with someone, why would I want to share the glass straw of the vape? With a girlfriend I don't have a problem but with others....

I had one battery wear out so ordered a non authorized battery that has a higher charge that losts longer. While I was waiting for that battery, I ordered another one.

If you go to gotvape.com you can get price matching and may be able to get it as low as $150. Start there and see what happens. I have had different pricing on different orders.

I've had to use their warranty and that was very quick and easy. For some reason the newest one just quit charging so I sent it back and they fixed it and sent it back quickly.

I went through a couple of Iolites before I found the Solo. I LOVE not having to use butane! Who want to run to the store for butane when you got a good buzz going?
You can see I am a fan of the Arizer Solo.

on that site list, its a toss up between the Solo and the ascent, they both use diff features though.

I went with a firefly tho. For the simplicity and power with vintage car beauty ext.

The solo is amazing. Like Washington said, the new ones can be used plugged into the wall. Vape quality and taste is better than the ascent IMO

The Trifecta

I own an Arizer Solo. Not the new model but the one that won't charge and operate simultaneously. I also own a Da Vinci Ascent and a Pax Ploom. I like all three of them.

1. Arizer Solo - Not the most portable because of the detachable glass mouthpiece. Doesn't have the LCD screen with precision temperature control and programmable sessions of the Ascent. But, this has the best vapor hands down. I bought a case for this just so I could haul it around with me in the car. With improved airflow and the charging oddity removed, oh and the better price I really believe that overall the Solo is the best vaporizer out there. Also, my Solo has been used thoroughly for over a year and it still cranks.

Now there are reasons you may prefer the other two...

2. Da Vinci Ascent - Ultimate control over temp, and once you get the hang of it the programmable sessions are very usable. I also like that it has a movement detector so if you're spacing out... it shuts down. The Solo works off of a set timer. Also, with the embedded mouthpiece and a chamber that is quite a bit larger than the Solo's I do believe this scores a bit higher in the portability category. But, the vapes just aren't as smooth and tasty as the Solo, so I often find myself going back to the Solo unless it's impossible for me to take it where I'm going. I also had an Ascent shit out on me after one month of use, stopped charging. I bought it off of eBay and the company refused to honor the warranty. I was disappointed.

On a sort of side note. I think that a combination of these two vaporizer would be glorious. The built in mouthpiece and the digital temp controls of the Ascent, but like the Solo the herb should be put into the mouthpiece and not placed in the cooker itself. I believe that's why the Solo is so smooth. Convection over combustion or whatever.

3. Pax Ploom - Honestly, the Pax Ploom is cool as hell because it is SO portable. When you get it you can't help but love its small but sturdy design. It's simple but effective. And, like I said this thing is impossibly small and still has a pretty huge chamber. But, I find that it's vapes are the worst of the three. They're still good, don't get me wrong, but the taste and smoothness just isn't there.

Overall, I'm about to use the Solo right now and that's usually the case. But, I would still recommend looking at an Ascent or Ploom in the future if concealment (concerts, etc) is an issue. It's just not convenient hauling around a separate glass tube that is liable to break. I've broken one of the two stems that it comes with already. But still, I love the exceptionally tasty and huge vapes I get from my Solo, I've been quite close to buying the new model several times.

EDIT: Although some people avoid it... eBay is an excellent place to buy vapes. They usually come with a case or grinder at a better price. $130 free shipping right now I believe.
