I can't really pick them out but no matter get rid of them.Get some neem oil or organic bug spray asap.

Whiteflies man. They're a battle. They will eventually take over and win if you don't manage them from now until you're finished. There's no easy way to get rid of them. No Pest Strips work for awhile.. no matter what you do, it's going to require a lot of effort. Look into Mighty Wash it's made by NPK Industries and it's for spidermites but works great on whiteflies. Get a lot of yellow traps, hang them everywhere - you'll see them on the traps in no time. They may not be too serious yet but they'll get there. Start looking at the undersides of the plants you have that are budding. I bet there's little eggs on some of the leaves already.

I got them, everyone said shut down to fix it.. I bombed with food grade foggers, washed the plants. put them in the sun for 4 hours (the chemical has a 3hr evap in direct sunlight), rinse repeat 3 times .. the ones that weren't budding I just rinsed off. Don't do it if you have any plants past week 3 - needs to still be pretty immature bud. Otherwise just use Mighty Wash... spray the plant in it's entirety right before lights out. Get the undersides of the leaves real good. I bought 3 foggers and used them once every 5 days. I haven't seen a whitefly since. After the first bombing I saw practically none.. three days later, I saw quite a few.. bombed on the fifth day. By the 9th day I saw a few again, bombed on the 10th day.. didn't see any after that and haven't bombed since. My infestation was bad though - they destroyed my plants, killed my clones, made all of my plants hermie from the level of stress because they just keep sucking the juices from the plant. They even caused budrot in some of my plants from weakening the plant so much. NO BUENO!

Put up HotShot No Pest Strips but take them down 2.5 weeks before harvest and make sure you have fresh air circulating. Dichlorovos has a 4.8 to 6.9 hour evaporation time. Even with such a quick evaporation time it's still recommended to go two weeks. Stay out of the area while these are hanging, no more than 2 hours a day (they're rated for 4 but let's be safe if we're going to use them). I get pretty minimal and usually do all my stuff within 30 minutes and stay out. Keep them in for at least 21 days. This will handle a full lifecycle. Some folks use them for an entire grow but a lot of people voice against this as well. I'm not a fan of smoking chemicals so I let my shit evaporate and pull them before harvest. I do reintroduce them at the first sign of bugs though.

Good luck man, wage war on them sons a bitches!

Where do they come from? Is this exclusive to soil or can it happen in hydro as well?

WTF !!

WG I am going to look into this righ bloomin now . heck

Hey guys, I had to drop something in here. Hot shot pest strips are super toxic and bad. I invested a little more in an organic solution called azamax. A little goes a long way, so don't be intimidated by the price. I've used it on spider mites and had them gone in two applications. Last year when I sprayed it on my outdoor plants having a caterpillar problem they all literally jumped from the plant like it was on fire. I've never seen anything like it. Since it's a neem extract you can use it as a soil drench as well and it goes systemic in the plant, meaning they bite, they die.

Piggy is a strong advocate against the No Pest Strips and I don't blame him. They release dichlorovos and I advise reading about it before using them. I use them against the advice of most people (some people will use them and give them proper evap time) in an optimal situation the chemical fully evaporates in 6.9 hours. I figure 2-3 weeks and some sunlight is optimal enough but who knows - I may be smoking pesticides. There's really no way to tell without getting the bud tested. A lot of folks swear by pest strips, a lot of folks swear by Azamax. What you need to do is the research and weigh the consequences and possibilites before making a decision. The No Pest strips are in zip lock bags out in my shed right now because I don't like to have them around all the time.

Read this if you're interested in learning more about dichlorvos (the ingredient in no pest strips) http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/phs/phs.asp?id=595&tid=111
Also, FWIW Azamax is highly concentrated neem oil derivative just because it's organic does not mean it's any safer than dichlorvos, you should still rinse the plants and let the sun hit them. Azadirachtin, the primary chemical in Azamax, has passed the TWO, yes only TWO mammal (rodent) studies that have been conducted on it. What people fail to realize is this is an ORAL ingestion study and the rodents do not smoke the shit. So please, make sure you thoroughly rinse off the Azamax (or any spray) after spraying it. Dichlorovos evaporates but I wash my plants down anyways.
Dichlorovos is toxic to humans, point blank - no studies have found it non toxic but all studies have found it to evaporate, especially in low humidity high heat (grow room) environments. Just make sure you have fresh air exchange if you use them.

Whiteflies can come from, well anywhere. I got mine from bringing a clone back in from an outdoor grow or while I was hardening plants off. Not quite sure but I do know it was a six month battle of hell. They're devil spawns!! Whatever you blast them with, get them under control ASAP!!

I dont think they are white fly. They are soil residents not leaf and no pics of the whitefly life cycle match the bugs i have.

I have some saf organic soap spray. I can use it to drench soil.

Ah, that's good news you don't have to fight the whitefly battle.. the flipside of the coin.. Well.., there's another bug that looks like whiteflies but it's soil bound.. and it's much worse than whiteflies... It's root aphids. Also the other possibility is thrips, do they burrow down into the soil or not?

Do they have adults? Whiteflies avoid the soil so theyre not whiteflies.. my bad on firing off all of that info, but they invaded me last year and it was an 8 month battle.. so I threw everything out there.

Soil bound pests are actually easier to deal with in most situations. You need to get some diamatecus earth to use to top your soil of new plants and the current plants need to be watered with the Azamax soil drench technique using the product Mr Piggy mentioned. I've dealt with root aphids and fungus gnats and thrips as well.. bugs are a part of growing marijuana when you mingle the plants outdoors.. :(

What's in the organic soap spray? Neem? It might be similar to the Azamax and may work for now if the infestation is low, I'd say give it a go.
